I just assume these days that most foods being sold at most places are GMO or have GMO ingredients. If for some strange reason the potatoes themselves aren't GMO, you can bet your bottom dollar that the oil (veggie oil-soy, corn etc) used to fry them is of the most DNA corrupt GMO you can find. The GMO potatoes are probably the least terrifying ingredient found in the fries. For most foods, if the main ingredient itself isn't GMO, then you can rest assured that many components of the food do contain GMOs. The oils in the mayo, the seasoning, the condiments, the breads, the sauces etc…high fructose corn syrup, soy lecithin, wheat, corn flour and oils etc But even scarier than that is non food ingredients used in these foods. No I'm not talking about that infamous dough conditioner that is also used in yoga mats, but the ones that are completely made in a lab- the ones that they use to trick our senses and are used for flavor. I can never remember what it's called but its basically flavor in a bottle, because yes, they can chemically produce and bottle any flavor they want in a liquid form. Then there is the sucralose… |
