Message Subject REAL DOOM--YELLOWSTONE GETTING READY TO ERUPT. MELTING ROADWAYS, CRUST SO THIN YOU COULD FALL THROUGH INTO BOILING HOT WATER/LAVA IN PLACES!!!!!!

Yellowstone National Park geologist Dr. Hank Hessler noted, "We do not know if there will ever be another catastrophic eruption in Yellowstone's future.

Do we see earthquake swarms in Yellowstone?
Definitely.

Do we see ground deformation?
Yes.

Do the geothermal systems change?
Yes.

But they're not all in the same area, they're just occurring somewhat randomly around the park, and not with the intensity associated with a potential eruption building."

Ok, I agree, however, "have we ever seen a super volcano erupt? NO...." So we have no Idea. The damn thing stretches for hundreds of square miles, it makes sense that there are different events happening all over the park. Does it not?

I agree with you that no body knows what will happen.

Maybe since it does cover such a large area and the Lava is very near the surface, the whole top layer of the earths crust will just melt into a pool of lava and we will end up with a huge lake of Lava and not so much of an eruption shooting 1000ns of feet in the air.

Just a thought since nobody really knows.

It can't happen that way because of the very nature of it and what makes it so powerful. Remember they used a pressure cooker for the Boston bomb? Well, Yellowstone has the same design as the pressure cooker and all the magma in the chamber is pressing upward with full bore pressure. What's been stopping it from exploding is a dome of rock that acts like a lid on a pressure cooker. If the magma melts a big enough hole into that lid then it might explode. Understand?

So, you might get a small eruption from time to time but you won't get a lake of magma just sitting there. This thing has explosive potential with highly liquid magma from a mantle plume.
