A number of years ago, there was a very large wildfire in Yellowstone national Park. A section of the roadway not only melted, but was burnt to the point that it had to be replaced. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of it, nor did any of the prevalent news stories do any justice to the devastation, as being able to see it first hand, while passing through. I may have a photo of the buffalo that was walking over to me, though. It was huge too.
