The fact is that people express opinions about the evidence we read in Josephus. It is someone’s opinion that what is found in Josephus can or should be interpreted as a reference to the historical Jesus. There is no clear evidence at all in Josephus — only passages that have recently been interpreted that way. The claim that Josephus said anything at all about Jesus is a relatively new one to the field of “modern” (post enlightenment) historical enquiry. The “rational claim” used to be that, since the key passage (the “Testimonium Flavianum” in book 18 of Antiquities) was clearly doctored or contaminated with some obvious interpolation, it was worthless as evidence. To recap, here is the key passage in Josephus: :quote2: Continue reading: [link to vridar.org] joe was a traitor who sold out to rome lived like a rich man there after betraying his people to write books on them |

Sensible people don't base their premiss around a lie. I notice that all the people with the demonic spirit of antichrist (who deny Christ) are always cackling. That cackling will end. Enjoy the last of your years of existence. Take the s off years and that is probably closer to the truth , you all will not be laughing soon , the fallen angels will be loosed soon from their abyss , the vail between dimensions lifted and the demonic army of Satan loosed upon mankind , only those who have Jesus will be protected from this wrath . To the OP there is numerous other non secular writers who spoke of Jesus , the fact only this part of Josephus writings are attacked as credible and you dolts jump on it, it shows exactly your mentality and that would be a combination of hypocrisy and retardation . Links or shut up. |
