Any GLP member can tell you that space is full of deadly asteroids just waiting to wipe out all life on Earth, but if you are not Bruce Willis what can you do about it ??

Well now there is a website which turns hunting for new asteroids into a sort of game. This website shows you real sky survey data that no human has seen before and asks you to find asteroids in the images. The site coaches you in spotting these new objects. So who knows your asteroid finds may be on a collision course with Earth.

Interestingly they now talk about finding resources on these asteroids whereas before the emphasis was on avoiding Armageddon.

If you do find a new asteroid make sure you bookmark it because unknown ones are quite rare it seems. Once you have tried a few image sets you will find the cycle button next to the play button very useful for showing up anything moving. Good luck !
