Five stars, OP. It probably isn't on the wiki anymore. "Dependency is commonplace Easy eradication of the human race"-The Acacia Strain, Wormwood I always leave good karma. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51423816 They are efficient for what they do. Based on your deep 0 seconds of research huh? Expect the 747s to be gone as early as November, with the 777s disappearing within three years. That's pretty good news for business travellers, since Malaysia Airlines' newer planes have more comfortable business class seats and better entertainment systems -- and they're quieter too. [link to www.ausbt.com.au] [link to www.flightglobal.com] [link to www.theguardian.com] MAS has 17 777-200ERs in its fleet, with an average age of 12.6 years, according to Maybank Investment Bank, with the youngest being 7.6 years old and the oldest 15.2 years. "Since all the regional competitors have an average fleet age of less than 10 years, MAS has no choice but to obtain and maintain a perpetually young fleet, and so the B777-200ER must go, said Moshin Aziz, analyst at Maybank. In 2012 Malaysia Airlines Scheduled To Decommission All Of Their Boeing 777-200's In Late 2014 (Including MH370 & MH17) A used Boeing 777-200 is still worth about $50 million while the loss of these 2 planes likely spells the end for Malaysia Airlines. Nope, not buying it. This would be like wanting to buy a new car so you get drunk and crash your old car. While the insurance settlement might be more than trade in value on the old car the legal costs and possibly getting sued if you crash into someone would probably prevent you from buying the new car. |
