The face of Ebola... dispelling the disinfo. (Graphic Images, Probably NSFW)
Man oh man there are ALOT of false images going around the interwebs today referencing ebola. Doing a reverse image search can help weed out the good from the bad.

But the fact is, an ebola patient from all outward appearance would look fairly normal. Unless they were starting to bleed out of course. Rashes are a common symptom but the rash itself resembles severe ACNE. I do not believe the images going around are being spread to intentionally deceive the public. I found some older blogs where people were posting images of anything from Small Pox to Steven Johnson's Syndrome and calling it Ebola.

The media uses the internet just like you and I so they found these images and republished them.

Here's what a TYPICAL Ebola patient looks like:

He looks like he has the flu doesn't he? Just a guy too sick to get out of bed.

As for rashes... the secondary rash associated with Ebola is called a Maculopapular Rash and is most visibly prevalent in White Patients.

Here is a image of a Maculopapular Rash. I do not think this person has Ebola.

Here is an ebola patient two days before death:

Here is the mouth of a ebola victim:

Here is an Ebola, victim notice her bleeding from injection sites.

Here are the eyes of a victim of a Hemorrhagic Fever. I do not know if it is Ebola. The Dr. credited with the photo states that it is.

Here is a image of a known ebola infected person. Once again notice how his eyes are bloodshot.

And lastly, here is a ebola victim that had an existing lesion on his neck. The virus pretty much stopped the healing process and the hole in the skin becomes another source of bleeding.

The odd thing is the utter void of legit Ebola images. My guess is that the location of these outbreaks, the rare frequency of these outbreaks, and the local customs have limited the media's ability to get "good" ebola photos.

Good post. The pics going around of all the other stuff only serve to scare everyone even worse, the real thing is bad enough.
