probably the theory where death/rebirth is a human control mechanism by the 'powers' of this world. Imho that's bullshit, but you never know. I think when you do not go to the light/tunnel you'll be stuck in between worlds, worst case scenario.

you don't make choices after death, you go where you are meant to go

because once you are out of your body, there is no time. time is a construct of our mortal lives and doesn't really exist. time is a way to describe change. once you die, there is no more change, and hence no more time. Hence, no more decisions. Everything just is.

So the concept of choosing not to go into the light is simply imspossible in that reality. You either do or do not.
