Gaddafi was calling for an alternate currency, backed by gold... VERY quickly did his people rise up and overthrow him. He was killed and dragged through the streets.

9/11 happened not even a year later, and we were at full scale war shortly afterwards.

He was found in a dirty, stingy hole, filthy and disgusting. Later he was found guilty of gassing his people and hung on TV, but I don't think we cared about the treatment of his people, we cared about his treatment of our dollar.
