This place is dreadful I'm done! You people do more damage to the cause than you know. Other people pay attention to missed quotes and all the other sensationalizing BS that goes on here. So when you report stuff as fact especially in a place like this, its probably best to verify the actual quote. Otherwise everything on this site is false. Not to mention, I'm the only one who noticed the quote was completely misrepresented?

We come to places like this to get breaking unfiltered news... NOT TO GET SENSATIONALIZED OR MISQUOTED STATEMENTS. That is why we don't watch lamestream in the first place.

I'm not sure what the deal is with this place, are you getting paid to get something pinned? Is anyone here making money? If not, why would you lie or sensationalize your threads? This place is a psychological experiment and I believe you are all failing. Off to find a board with a few non-juvenile people left. The constant massaging and misrepresentation that goes on here due to ego is ruining the credibility of the entire site.

Like people claiming Ebola had spread to Spain because a priest was isolated and sent there for treatment. People like this are killing the movement for truth..

He ACTUALLY said this while reporting on the breaking news on US air strikes in Iraq. I hit pause so I could go back on my DVR and record it with my phone, but by the time I could get to it, my DVR switched over to another scheduled recording! Drat!!! So I have no proof. But I can tell you what he said!!

He was discussing the breaking news and the air strikes. He made a statement of fact and then qualified it by saying the following: "This isn't what fox news wants you to hear, this is what the government told us to tell you!!!"

I kid you not!!! He REALLY said this!!! Oh man!! I wish I could have gotten a recording of that like I tried to do with my phone!!! Unbelievable admission by FOX NEWS!!!

Please if anyone else caught this statement by Shepherd Smith and managed to get it recorded please post!!!

Ok...I started this thread and have been accused of sensationalizing this story. All I have done is report both what I heard and what I saw. The original post above with the quote was off of memory. I didn't have the copy of the video that you see below to be able to quote Shepherd Smith word for word. It was a paraphrase from memory of seeing this news segment on live TV.
Each of you should read the information posted by myself and other posters here and decide for yourself what you believe Shepherd Smith meant. However...to try to eliminate any ambiguity in my statements in this thread. I will transcribe the exact wording of what Shepherd Smith said. Emphasis in the form of bold type and underline is mine.

And I quote:

"Again...this is not Fox News reporting, this is from the Pentagon. I'm not giving you information that we've learned, I'm telling you what our government tells us to tell you, that's it."

Make of it what you will. Mine was simply to inform anyone who might be interested about what was said. So please stop the flaming.

As a reporter myself, read between the lines. Smith cited his source of information for this news, then cited again that it was NOT from a source with Fox news. That it was the Pentagon/government telling him what to say. This is NOT the usual way we cite a source in any report. Very irregular indeed! The part where he said, "...I'm telling you what our government tells us to tell you.." is far and away his indirect way of telling us he's not a government mouthpiece and the whole story is probably a total sham. Use Occam's Razor. It's obvious that's what he's trying to convey.
