Jesus tells us the importance of feeding and clothing those in need here: Matthew 25:31-46
So if a Christian takes this literally, and has a strict interpretation of this teaching, and is devout to Jesus' teachings, and then provides for those in need,
Does this make the Christian an extremist or a radical?
If no,
Why do we consider Muslims' extremists / radicals when they closely follow the teachings of Muhammad?
Bukhari (62:137) - An account of women taken as slaves in battle by Muhammad's men after their husbands and fathers were killed. The woman were raped with Muhammad's approval.
Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."
Muslim (17:4209) - A woman confesses adultery and is stoned to death on Muhammad's order.
Also Muslims who don't follow Muhammad's teachings strictly, are considered good and "moderate."
So if a Christian doesn't follow Jesus teachings strictly, does this make him good and "moderate."
For example Jesus taught let he without sin, cast the first stone. So if a Christian doesn't follow this teaching strictly, and stones a woman, would he be considered good and "moderate" since he doesn't strictly follow Jesus' teachings? |

Radical or extremist means you will kill or persecute others who don't believe the same way you do or carry out punishments or commit violent acts that are illegal but that you believe you are entitled to do because your religion says its okay. For instance, bombing abortion clinics, shooting doctors, beating children unconscious as punishment, stoning women, kidnapping women so they can't attend school, etc. |
