Ebola - Massive influx of patients that we had over the last few days
There is no containing Ebola now with massive influx of new cases within a few days and many going unreported.

[link to www.cbsnews.com]

“Up to 30 patients were staying at the center and many of them fled at the time of the raid, said Nyenswah. Once they are located they will be transferred to the Ebola center at Monrovia's largest hospital, he said.”

"With the massive influx of patients that we had over the last few days, we're not able to keep zones of patients anymore. Everybody is mixed."

“Liberian officials fear Ebola could soon spread through the capital's largest slum after residents raided a quarantine center for suspected patients and took items including bloody sheets and mattresses.”

“The residents took medical equipment and mattresses and sheets that had bloodstains, he said. Ebola is spread through bodily fluids including blood, vomit, feces and sweat.”

“All between the houses you could see people fleeing with items looted from the patients," the official said, adding that he now feared "the whole of West Point will be infected."

“There are 40 beds at one treatment center that Doctors Without Borders recently took over in one quarantined county in Liberia. But 137 people have flocked there, packing the hallways until they can be sorted into those who are infected and those are not, said Joanne Liu, the group's international president.”

“Nyenswah described a similar situation in a treatment center in Liberia's capital of Monrovia: In one ward meant to accommodate up to 25 people, 80 are now crowded in.”

Re: Ebola - Massive influx of patients that we had over the last few days
How do we know this is a game-changer?

There were 137 patients at one center setup to handle 40. One must have to be gravely sick to stay and be grouped with in tight quarters some known Ebola patients.

Doctors and nurses are leaving on a mass scale when the situation is at its worst and expertise at the lowest. Any sense of community is breaking down while panic sets in.

OP, any thoughts on this?

Thread: Ebola theory

The theory is that it works in two phase and is contagious without showing symptoms.

Phase 1) A person gets the virus and does not show symptoms; but, the body starts excreting the virus through the skin and is not airborne. It is contagious without showing symptoms.

Phase 2) The virus progresses and the body recognizes it has the virus. This results in the virus being airborne and highly contagious.

...

I was thinking along those lines too. That would make it unstoppable, correct?

Concerning trying to stop the outbreak, I think the only realistic hope is if they can develop a way to detect it early on. But, that would not be a solution because how are they going to test everyone for the disease EVERYDAY? That's impossible.

I don't see any way to defeat Ebola except for the long-shot of a medication that would preemptively give people the necessary antibodies to provide immunity.

Something relevant to that was posted today:

Thread: US Department of Defense cut funding for an Ebola vaccine 2 years ago!!!

The information in the following article is huge for at least two separate conspiracy theory rumors floating around concerning Ebola:

1. TPTB already have a cure for Ebola.

If that's true then was the US government-funded research discussed in the article below just for show? I find that very unlikely.

2. Ebola is a bio-weapon that's meant to reduce the population.

Could the US government have cut funding for an Ebola vaccine because they didn't want one to be found? Interesting and frightening conspiracy angle there.

On to the article:

Scientists researching the lethal ebola virus have told the BBC that a commercial vaccine to prevent the onset of infection may never be developed.

Two companies with leading vaccine candidates have had their funding from the Pentagon suspended in recent weeks.

An expert said it was now "unlikely" a prophylactic vaccine would ever be used to prevent outbreaks of the disease.

Ebola is often described as the most frightening disease on Earth.

Imagine being so low that you would loot an ebola patient's bloody bed sheets, ffs.

I can't see that this will end well in Africa, with that behavior as the demonstrated reality. It takes careful discipline to end an epidemic, and apparently that is a quality lacking in the mass consciousness.

Although we have better medical protocols here in the US to prevent contagion, it will spread anyway. And sad to say, the medical staff here will also break and run when things get too overwhelming.

We are on our own.

Better hope nano silver and oil of oregano work against this particular virus....it may be ALL we have to work with.

Re: Ebola - Massive influx of patients that we had over the last few days
It looks to me like the best hope for quickly and easily ridding things of Ebola would be UV lights. But, I haven't seen any information on exactly how strong the UV light has to be to kill Ebola.

Here are three examples from different price ranges of UV lights from a random website. Anyone have any idea which one if any would be strong enough to kill Ebola?

Most powerful 4 Watt Lamp
bullet Ergonomic & versatile handle
bullet S/W, L/W, or Combo Wavelength
bullet Battery operated or AC Adapter
bullet 120V or 240V AC
bullet Price Range $86 to $120

bullet 6 Watt Power
bullet Distinctive wraparound handle
bullet S/W, L/W, or Combo Wavelength
bullet Operates on 2 Lantern Batteries
bullet Optional Rechargeable Batteries
bullet Price Range $259 to $323

bullet 130 Watt High Intensity
bullet Usable in Daylight
bullet Long Wave for Inspection
bullet Runs off 115 Volt power

Better yet, don't get it in the first place. Self instituted safe zones aka quarantine. It would require six three months of food and water. That'd be the minimum before it burns out of a densely populated area. A good deal of wits and no sex outside your bonifide quarantine for another nine months.

I read a post yesterday that made some sense. They thought maybe it was a targeted disease aimed at wiping out blacks. Something about scikle cell anemia and that chimpanzees got it to. have any white people died from this yet? I mean real white people not some mixed up brownish people masquerading as whites.

UV Light. Sun light.

One of the old protocols for treating a viral disease was putting the patient outside, in a sunny, sheltered location. Fresh Air & Sunshine was considered quite therapeutic.

That's when the secondary effects become a huge factor, especially concerning the power plants:

Thread: Secondary Effects of bad Ebola event: Nuke Plant Meltdowns, Famine, Collapse of Medical Supply Chain

There are secondary effects of a bad Ebola event which "could" lead to even more deaths than just the direct deaths (at least for the industrialized world)

COLLAPSE OF THE HIGH TECH MEDICAL SUPPLY CHAIN FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT TO LIVE

About 1 in 20 to 1 in 30 Americans NEED regular High Tech Medical Intervention in order to keep living normal lives. This includes Diabetics, Heart Patients, People with Other Deficencies, Kidney Dialysis, Transplant Patients, Nursing Home Patients, etc..

In other words the risk of an additional 5% die off of people in the US exists "IF" the Ebola situation causes a collapse in our High Tech Medical Supply Chain even if those people do NOT contract Ebola.

FOOD and risk of FAMINE

In days of old, as late as the 1960/70's there were LOTS of farmers who produced our food in the US). Today a small percentage of those numbers now produce our food (at least in the US) and the production process is very high tech. While rural areas may have a MUCH lower infection and death rate, they may not, but if there is a vast reduction in those who know how to farm, OR the support supply chain that allows our FACTORY FARMS to produce, then on the heels of Ebola could come serious famine issues.

NUCLEAR POWER PLANT MELTDOWN RISKS (scariest of all)

A couple of posters have already commented that Nuclear Power Plants require Well Trained People operating them PLUS a continuous supply chain of Electric Power and cooling water in order to avoid a Fukoshima situation ... EVEN WHEN THEY ARE SHUT DOWN!! (cooling pools will overheat and old fuel will melt ... ala Fukushima ... if the ELECTRIC pumps stop and the water cooling them stops flowing through the pools ... a reactor recently shut down REQUIRES WEEKS to cool down! ... also needing a continual supply of cooling water while that is going on). NO Operators or NO Electric Power for Cooling = Nuclear Plant meltdown ala Fukushima! ... A No-Go zone for miles around for maybe a 1000 years or more.

A couple of more things to add:

Prisons becoming untenable in terms of continuing to function leading to prisoners breaking out and going wild.

Mental asylums becoming untenable in terms of continuing to function leading to mental patients breaking out and going wild.

And those things happening while simultaneously increasing numbers of law enforcement will be quitting their jobs due to societal breakdown and of course dying as well.

The crime rate will sky rocket while law enforcement plummets to nothing.

We might not be here in a year or two.

Don't forget to mention all those who are taking (and probably addicted to) mood-altering and pain-relieving prescription drugs. Although a lot of them will die from purchasing "home-made" ersatz substitutions for their drug of choice. Just like many were sickened or died from "bath-tub gin" and drinking Sterno during Prohibition.

Great questions but sorry I'm limited to smart phone for moment.

In short, I believe the virus is changing forms and the only solution in this late part of game will require drastic actions by sealing off major borders yet this will not happen until its too late.

Panic is setting in throughout Africa with other countries soon to follow. If we can not handle Fergusen we certainly don't have the leadership in place to handle Ebola.

Yes, that would be the ideal, but if the ideal is not available we must deal with what we have.

My sister is in Europe right now, cruising the Mediterranean on a trip she had planned for years. She will return at the end of August. For all I know, she may come back infected. By the time any of us knows that ebola is among us, it may be too late to quarantine effectively.

So one would have to convince all their loved ones to leave civilization right about NOW and have no contact with the outside world for, conceivably, YEARS not months. This will go around in waves, I believe, if it is like other pandemic viruses.

The Spanish flu went around the world in three massive waves lasting five years. My mother's mother kept her children away from public places for months at a time. My mother was about two years old in 1918, and obviously lived to tell about it. But it was easier to isolate back then, and they lived out on a farm with all their food needs supplied by their own hard work.

By all means yes, self quarantine if you are able.

But, whoever is paying already has well thought out plans that would probably outdo the best fiction writer.

Now it all makes sense. You've got a bunch of people who really believe that Ebola is a hoax so they're not afraid. They'll take the payday for doing what they consider to be nothing. Stealing bedsheets is not even much of a crime after all.
