My Dad Had a Stroke...please pray for him

my mom was just diagnosed w/ malignant SCC squamous cell carcinoma

she goes into surgery in 1 week.

day before her 81st birthday.

Thanks for the prayers, guys! He's only 58! It has been such a shock. The one thing I'm learning at 39 is that my parents are merely human. What a humbling thing! :-)

I will say a special prayer and light a candle this evening for your father.

Prayers sent...feed him lots of vitamin C, it strengthens capillaries...they may put him on Warfarin too, which is rat poison, literally it's rat poison, but is dissolves clots.

You may not believe this, most people don't, but about nine months ago God told me to go see a friend, immediately.

I closed the doors, sent everyone home, and when I got there my friend was on the hood of his car. I put him in my car and drove him to the ER...his symptomatology was wrong for a heart attack, turns out he had a pulmonary embolism...they put him on Warfarin to dissolve the clots, so I know it works.

OP my dad had a major stroke in July. Be vigilant for any signs of depression and make sure he eats. It is not an easy road.

Right now he is getting IV heparin and Coumadin by mouth. They were hoping to take him off the drip a week ago but the Coumadin is not at therapeutic levels yet. I will ask about the Warfarin when I go in today.

They can't operate, of course, because his stroke happened in his cerebellum, super close to his brain stem.

Saying a prayer for your dad, too! On top of everything else, he's been diagnosed as diabetic. It is going to be a long road to recovery, but thank God my dad was home at the time. My mom was able to call the paramedics right away. Thank god he wasn't in a customers home alone at the time!!!! He can still talk, think, eat, move. His coordination was affected, but he's not paralyzed!

So many things to be thankful for, really!!!!!!

My Wife had a stroke last October 31 she is better but lost the use of her left arm and little use of her left leg. BUT getting better.
So Yes PRAYING for Your Dad. Have Faith in Jesus and let him heal Your Dad..

Is your dad still I'm the hospital or has he moved to rehab? With the Coumadin and warfarin. I know one takes a while to build up in the system while the other acts faster but needs to stay within a range or it can become harmful so it has to be more closely monitored.

Praying for your wife and you! Lots of challenges in the future for all of us! But, I know we can do it! He's being super positive for now! I do worry about depression kicking in at some point with my dad if he's unable to work. The silly man has been on the phone with customers making appointments for two months from now!!!! Lol lol lol

I almost peed on me from laughing so hard at him! I mean, what's he gonna do!? Go to customers houses in a wheelchair?!?! Lol lol. Hahaha. I love my dad to pieces, but he's a freaking nut!!!!

My teens told him they're using him to get into baseball games and my little one plans on using him for wwe events! Gotta love my crazy family!

We just gotta keep on talking to God and staying positive. This weekend is gonna be tough...we have to build a railing for his porch, take down a water bed, put up a new bed, rearrange furniture...clean the parents swimming pool.

My mother is insisting on keeping their bed, lmao!!!! Might be funny to video tape her helping him out of it!
