MASSIVE internet outage. Charter down nationwide

im in mass, and its working right now but service has been kinda lousy today for sure, but also they are going out of this area soon, comcast is supposed to be taking over sometime next year according to my towns website, btw comcast just bought out time warner cable as well and some critics have said comcast has terrible customer service and a comcast rep admitted in an interview that their service has been rated as poor but "theyr working on it" haaaaa

they are being bought out of lots of areas and claim they want to just keep a dedicated territory, until recently they have been a good company i havent had many problems with my service and when i did they always reponded quickly and solved it fast, but it looks like they tried to expand to quickly and now they have to scale back.

If you change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 it works.. The error is on their DNS Server this is using Googles DNS and works great!

Let's blame the "ISIS Electronic Army" or some other cat's paw to drive us to war in Syria.

They tried last year to get us into a war in Syria by the chemical weapons attack - initially blamed on Assad, but it was revealed to come from the rebels... our rebels we fund.

What happened? The truth came out, it wasn't the Syrian government but a false flag. US service members began posting photos of themselves with "I won't fight for Al-Qaeda" signs.

Talk of war with Syria died down... until that fake video last week.

i was reading on a website for charter cable problems, that networks have been going down in the middle east as well for the past day as well and some were saying that other companies have been having larger issues too on networks like att tmobile and bank of america, and come to think of it i have had customers complaining to me about loss of network service earlier this week as well as loss of POS terminals at stores that keep failing sporadically, wonder what is going on lately, i recall seeing some thread here about large scale network attacks on the US. hmmmm

This is weird because we were supposed to have an internet outage in my area due to equipment updating. It was supposed to last from 6:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday. Maybe they are doing the same thing in these areas.

I saw a Charter rep ( not a repair guy) visiting every home with Charter inmy neighborhood today . Its a very small town In western NC

Hey mate, I'm in Michigan and my Charter internet has been spotty/slow/down altogether all day today. I just changed the DNS server as well and it fixed it instantly. So, just verifying it was a DNS issue and hoping other find the same relief ;)

A family member of mine worked as a salesman for Charter doing cold call sales. 9 out of 10 times people were furious of his presence, and would just rant about how shitty experiences they've had with charter

An of course, Charter disconnects their support phones during the outage. But If you want to call their New Customer number to order services, they are all up and ready to take your orders...

Charter out in Eau Claire WI but switch your router dns to Google-- 8.8.8.8 or secondary at 8.8.4.4 Works great until or even after Charter repairs their dns issues.

Changing your DNS on your router to Google's 8.8.8.8 like one user already stated seems to resolve the problem for now until regular service is back up.

Down at my house in Eau Claire, WI since this afternoon. My mom only two houses away is still able to make phone calls with Charter internet and a Magic Jack, and is watching Netflix, so I don't know why it's dark here. Huge bummer now is when I NEED to get work done via internet :(

If you want to fix your Charter Internet issues try to change you DNS settings to Google DNS. I have not even seen a hit on my service.

Internet has been in and out, when service is up, my wireless devices can connect to my network but do not have access to the internet. Can't get customer service because their phone lines are busy/off the hook.
