Anonymous Coward User ID: 61968333 United States 08/23/2014 10:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yup, it's about 25 miles from me. The homes up in Lemon Cove have dried up wells too. They shipped in water for as long as they could, but now a bunch of them are selling their houses but not telling prospective owners that there's no water to be had. Everything in my garden has dried up and died. It doesn't matter if you water the stuff, the air is so dry it just wilts the plants. They can't take it. We have trouble breathing for all the dust. Everyone feels like shit. It's the same conversation every day as we stare balefully at a cloudless sky. It use to be, when will it rain again. Now it's, WILL IT EVER RAIN AGAIN. Slow moving apocalypse for us. We may have to move, but our whole family is here. And since the economy died here as well, we don't really have the money to leave. It takes everything we have just to buy enough food to barely eat and filter the disgusting looking water that is coming out of our tap. I mean, you can see shit floating in it. I used to make a hundred thousand dollars a year on my own, and now I'm wondering if my whole family is going to die of starvation in a fucking drought in the near future. If that's not a slow moving apocalypse, I don't know what is. |

I'm lucky to live in an area without too many people, our wells are strong and crops are fine. Too many people crash the water table and it's done. |

Exactly, thats why we all need to stay put. Unless you can afford to be a citizen in another state without government assistance, you shouldn't be allowed in. |
