Because only a large oil corporation has the money, logistics, know how to exploit such an oil field in the most profitable way. I guess they just bully their way in and say, well you're going to need the oil so you better pay us for it.

The government has sold out to private corporations. Theres no such thing as the Alaskan or American state oil company.

This is why it's always a lie when politicians talk about the need for more oil drilling for energy independence. There is no US oil. It's all drilled mostly by foreign companies and sold on the world market. The US land already produces more oil than the people living in the US consume.


We allow foreigners to come to the US and spoil our environment with their oil spills and explosions and then happily ask for even more abuse.

Also, I think most of the oil goes to Japan.
