anyone live in Chicago?

I have lived in the city most my life- northside. There are shootings happening a few blocks away in uptown and i am not in a bad place ( duplex townhouse blocks from the lake) It seems like the guns no matter how many they find and take away come back ten fold. Think the Govt is providing the gangs with these? Or maybe because this is Obamas stomping ground , its a plot to make chicago seem even worse? frustrating...
