British Invasion! Plague of Giant House Spiders Set to Infest Homes | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 63022008 United Kingdom 09/19/2014 12:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had loads of spiders in the house over the last month or two. Mostly smallish ones. I pick them up and put them out the window but the little buggers bolt straight back in again! Seen a couple of big boys. They get a glass put over them and a bit of cardboard slipped in underneath and taken to the bottom of the garden for release. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 24941286 United States 09/19/2014 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Spiders don't really bother me. They keep the ants, earwigs, moths and assorted vermin(the ones that do bother me) in check. Probably 100 or more spiders in my basement at any given time. They're welcome here, but I do get tired of the cobwebs. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24647587 Yes, my cat also has a good handle on the buggers, he hears them crawling in the next room. He's a great spider eliminator. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Anonymous Coward User ID: 62995030 United Kingdom 09/19/2014 01:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | you realise that there are people reading this in Brazil and Australia saying, thats's not a spider, THIS is a spider mate. I always get the job of catching and throwing out the house spiders, we see them every Autumn. This year I have found one of these aggressive ( but harmless ) green fanged funnel web spiders in the bedroom. [link to i.dailymail.co.uk] Also a false widow, which can give you a nip. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61349034 Right, you do know we are talking about little harmless hairy spiders that scuttle across your floor when you are watching TV not plagues of locusts or rivers of blood? Anonymous Coward User ID: 62854628 United Kingdom 09/19/2014 06:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Experts are telling the people of Great Britain to prepare for an invasion of giant house spiders in the weeks to come. Quoting: Dr_Doom According to UKMetro, experts are telling people that as the temperatures begin to cool, arachnids will be looking to move inside to avoid the winter climate. Apparently this is the time of year that the spiders are looking for a partner, so they seek out places that are warmer to mate. Great Britain has had a relatively mild summer, which means the insect population has taken off to enormous sizes, making their numbers much larger, and the bugs themselves much bigger than average. “This year has been seemingly a good one for the invertebrates which spiders feed on, and it’s quite mild out there,” Professor Adam Hart of the University of Gloucestershire told The Mirror. [link to madworldnews.com] Have actually noticed this ....one scurried out from under the sofa and shit the wife up really bad I flattened it with a book , the wife has taken a Pic... I would definitely look into getting one of these: [link to www.youtube.com] But real. It would help if they are vegetarian spiders who drink fruit juice or something like that, but good for protection. |
