Why Steely Dan is so relevant:

Because when you ears tell you that you should hate this song. And suddenly, you look down and notice that your heels are bopping and your toes are tapping. Then, you realize your head is nodding without your permission as well.

It was before that. Junky-chic novelist William S. Burroughs invented the name "Steely Dan" (which won the Yokohama Sex Toy competition) in either "The Naked Lunch" or "The Soft Machine."

Everyone should read Junky. It's fairly tame for a WB novel.
