Imagine a group of learned but otherwise unimpressive men and women who had in their possession an old jigsaw puzzle that when put together would explain the mysteries of existence and the keys to its workings.

They knew some pieces were missing and that some had been entrusted to various groups of learned individuals throughout the world who held very different values than they did.

They did not let this dissuade them however. They had the most pieces after all.

So they began assembling this puzzle and marveling at the tapestry it created. All the while employing spies, salesman, thieves and any and every other method available to attain the missing pieces.

Generations passed and slowly but surely the missing pieces were found one by one. Save for a few that were held by commoners who were not part of any order. Those must not be important they all happily agreed on and not worth the considerable effort it turns out would be required to attain them from these individuals. They now considered the puzzle virtually complete.

They made their plans and executed them after much thought and deliberation. The world economy, longevity and health...
Everything was within their grasp except for one little problem.

It turns out those missing pieces are needed after all and the message clearly states those who have the remaining pieces can not be killed or it will start the entire cycle over and the puzzle pieces will be re-scattered once again.

Those ppl will not relinquish them without certain outlandish requests about fairness and prosperity for all being what the power is used for. They insist this must all be shared with the world. Lowly commoner thinking and to make matters worse they are clever and won't be tricked or lied to about our intentions. They have made it a requirement we make several good faith gestures we can't back out of once done to prove our sincerity.

How will we defeat our last hurdle when the power we seek refuses us the right to harm those we will not share with...
