Google - "Removing American flags?"

This past year many people have been fined for having American flags in a flower pot , on their front porch , on your fence, or locker ( one fireman lost his job ) pretty much being told not to display it or there will be consequences. What the heck is going on in America if we cant even display the American flag on our own property?
