How would you feel if the government tacked on $1.31 per gallon of gas, and charged 5% tax ?

Don't they have a system, where they can throw the bum out?
I thought they had done that before. Maybe others will get tired or it and then you can really make head way.

at that point, it would be easier to just say screw it, and join the leeches on the public dole. Because no way could I afford to go to work, pay bills and still buy groceries.

I'm from Alberta and also have a place in B.C.
I don't understand how people in B.C put up with
the prices they do. I thought people were going to
start revolting over there years ago, but they just
keep taking it. For a province who produces so hydro
electricity the prices should not be doubling and tripling!!

I could write a novel on how crooked the government insurance company ICBC is.

When I lived in Victoria there were cops on every corner. It made no fucking sense... the crime rate in Vic is so low.

They make you feel like a criminal just for driving to work.

I am actually going to Victoria tomorrow. My entire persona will change when I'm there. I wish it were over already.

but this isn't about the price of gas... it's about what the government taxes on top of the price of gas.

California to USA is like BC to Canada.

Fuel taxes in Germany are €0.4704 per litre for ultra-low sulphur Diesel and €0.6545 per litre for conventional unleaded petrol, plus Value Added Tax (19%) on the fuel itself and the Fuel Tax. That adds up to prices of €1.42 per litre for ultra-low sulphur Diesel and €1.55 per litre (approximately USD 8.10 per US gallon) for unleaded petrol.



Diesel:
1.42 - 0.4704 = 0.9496 € TAXES(=201.8 %)

Conventional:
1.55 - 0.6545 = 0.8955 ³ TAXES(=136.8 %)

Agreed! ICBC is the worst! And BC Ferries keeps raising their prices. Gas is going up and up, electricity like I said, food and mostly everything. It's defiantly not as bad here in Alberta. They are cracking down on wood stoves on Vancouver Island pretty bad, the new CSA approved ones that you have to get now won't even burn though the night. Garbage. What good is a stove that only burns for afew hours if your main heating source is wood. I'm not waking up in he middle of the night to put more wood in. They made me install a smart meter on the property, which I'm getting rid of ASAP and to get rid of the $400 a month electric bill I am going solar ASAP aswell. As soon as they installed the smart meter the power bill went up and no more electricity was used. But try arguing with BC hydro lol. They say oh, your old meter must have been reading wrong and giving you a deal, end of story. BC is going down hill quick.
