Oops! New York Times Tweets ‘Obama Resignation’

Although it would be epic to see Obama remove himself from the White House, his replacement probably wouldn’t be much better. On Thursday, the New York Times had a few people pondering that notion, after sending out a tweet which read, “Live video: Obama resignation press conference here [link].”

Obviously, the Times meant to alert their readers to the press conference surrounding Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation. They sent out a follow-up tweet to correct themselves moments later. “Correction: Live video: Watch Obama announces Attorney General resignation press conference here,” the Times responded in an attempt to correct their mistake.

Unfortunately for the NYT, the damage had already been done and they were the laughing stock of the Twitter world. Check out some of the hilarious responses they got:
