It was not life threatening and could have been postponed. The guy is in his 30's, not a child with a serious condition. Quoting: CowgirlK That is not considered an elective surgery. Breast implant? Yes.. Facelift, yes..ect. My tonsillectomy was not life threatening, but Was not considered elective. Was deemed medically necessary. Big difference! Again, I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone who would be willing to offer info, such as yourself. Lots of good info on this thread. He went to the DR and told him that he needed something done because he snores and my daughter will not sleep with someone who snores. Considering that, I guess it was emergency surgery! |

Also, former academy classmate is now with Dallas Fire. Quoting: TeamReaper Trying to get some info on something I heard. Problem is won't know until I talk to one of them in person, won't talk about it via phone, txt, or email. Will be back when I hear. Wanted to give an update in case I fall asleep before I here anything. Have not talked in person, not sure when I will but am hopeful this weekend. We do not live close and each have families with kids. I will say we chatted some yesterday and his tone was very "optimistic" and had faith that all would be well. Tonight, completely different. Was very "guarded" and what I would describe as concerned. Complete 180 from last night. I know better not to ask specific and detailed questions via phone or texts. Would not put him in that position and he would know better not to answer. That said, if he was in full on "pucker mode" he would have let me know. We didn't have much time tonight, but I should also mention that being in LE and do not know what happened on his shift to make his tone change. It can be things not related to Ebola at all. For instance, he could have been called out to a child abuse case or a child mauling...several things that officers in LE encounter really does affect how they are. I will chat with him in the AM, if his tone is the same then will dig a little deeper. It was as when you are overwhelmed and are trying to process a lot...really trying to avoid saying in "shock" as I do not want to add anything that I have not confirmed with him in person. As for the former colleague who now is at Dallas Fire, haven't heard anything back yet...but not unusual considering I haven't spoke to him in a few yrs. Will update when I hear more, didn't want to not respond tonight and leave everyone hanging, sorry I don't have anything more substantial as I know everyone wants to know. Thank You Reaper..Please let us know if and when you hear back from your friends! May be related to the sheriff officers that are now isolated and told to bag their uniforms up. " 4 sheriff's deputies, health director, doctor, went into Ebola victims apartment last nigh without protection" "MORE: At least 2 DCSO patrol cars now quarantined, deputies sent home, told to bag uniforms." Anonymous Coward User ID: 59917183 United States 10/02/2014 11:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ive been wondering about Ebola and our water supply. Quoting: CowgirlK Here is some of info I have found: PHYSICAL INACTIVATION: Ebola are moderately thermolabile and can be inactivated by heating for 30 minutes to 60 minutes at 60°C, boiling for 5 minutes, or gamma irradiation (1.2 x106 rads to 1.27 x106 rads) combined with 1% glutaraldehyde . Ebolavirus has also been determined to be moderately sensitive to UVC radiation. [link to www.phac-aspc.gc.ca] At sea level, water boils at 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit. 60 Celsius is 140 Fahrenheit. So I guess you can kill the virus in boiling water. If it gets into our water supply boiling our water should make it safe to drink. Right? Cowgirl, have you noticed a high number of ER facilities being built within the past six months? Additions to procedures include: • 911 operators will be asking patients whether they have traveled out of the United States, and specifically whether they have been to Africa. • MedStar officials will be using a monitoring system called First Watch. To help the Tarrant County Health Department, the 911 dispatch computer will plot on a map specific call types so ambulance officials will be able to know whether a neighborhood is experiencing a high number of those calls. • Ambulance officials are increasing communication from the scene to the hospital for suspected Ebola cases so hospital staffs can be prepared for the patient’s arrival. • Officials also have worked out notifications to Tarrant County Public Health. If MedStar transports a suspected Ebola patient to a hospital, officials there will notify the county. If the patient declines to be taken to a hospital, MedStar officials would notify the county health department. [link to www.star-telegram.com] |

Ok, if that's why they were sent in, then yes, it should be federal due to the nature of the matter. Those officers should ALL have refused, patently refused, to go anywhere near the premises. Then, if they were fired, they would have great grounds for a lawsuit. |
