Hmmm
Let's see...

Christians (and others) have been WAITING for this for close to 2000 (two THOUSAND) years. That's 80 (eighty) generations based on 25 years.

Seems if 0 "higher-level" action has been offered to mankind (and there have been WAY MORE desperate times than these)

DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH!

Learn to live in it and expect death like everyone else here...

And YES, im one of those: "Where is this promised presence?"
REMEMBER 2000 YEARS!?!
 Quoting: Being * gnieB

First of all we needed mass communications to be able to fulfill most of end times prophecies.

In Mathew 24 Jesus' disciples ask when will the world end?

Jesus answered and said - When you SEE ALL these things - this is the generation that will see all prophecy fulfilled (Math 24:33).

He literally means seeing, i.e. through webcams, videos, computers etc.

What are ALL the things we shall SEE?

Earthquakes, disease and wars in many places around the world. (Math 24:7)

Only in this generation has this been possible - at these websites:

ds.iris.edu/seismon/;
outbreaks.globalincidentmap.com/

Ancients didn't have the ability to SEE or know of earthquakes and disease on the other side of the world i.e. Alaska etc - nor would they care?

We should care however, because Jesus tells us these things will start out slowly like birth pangs and accelerate to apocalyptic levels. When this happens (and they are accelerating), we'll have a sign the end is near.

How do I know it really means literally seeing?

Well, to paraphrase Luke 21 Jesus in parable of the fig tree says - when you see the trees sprout buds you know summer is near. LIKEWISE (same thing applies here) - when you SEE ALL these things....

Next - When we SEE "the evil one" in the temple from a field or rooftop - this is the start of Great Tribulation.

Why would Jesus use the examples field or rooftop?

How would you SEE "satan's man" standing in the holy place from a field?

Only way I know is with a mobile device i.e. smartphone. Therefore this prophecy couldn't happen until we had mobile devices.

Isaiah 10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;

God is a light to comfort his people and a fire to burn his enemies.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65445031

Continuing with Assyrian is the Antichrist:

Isaiah 10:18-19

And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. 19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.

In the verses above, Jesus Christ will destroy the kingdom of the Assyrian (aka the Antichrist) at his second coming. The fire of Israel is Jesus Christ’s everlasting rule on earth. Christ’s earthly kingdom centered in Jerusalem will consume the final gentile world empire like a fire. Earthly kingdoms will now all come under the authority of God.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71028759

Isaiah 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71032921

The Assyrian has met his maker - so to speak.

However, it is not enough to convince me the Assyrian is the antichrist.

As I have mentioned before we have several bible verses that prove his is not the AC.

It is true - Jesus does kill the antichrist.

But where does the antichrist die?

Where does the Assyrian die?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70568049

Isaiah 14 tells us where the Assyrian of end times dies:

25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

The antichrist meets his demise on on a mountain, but in Megiddo valley:

Megiddo valley is the ground for the last battle, the Armageddon war.

It is where all world armies will gather to overthrow the Antichrist and as the battle heats up and the Antichrist turn to wipe out the Jews from the face of the earth, Jesus Christ with His armies will appear on the east to judge and bring peace forever as you are going to see in Armageddon war culmination.

Actually Jesus in Mathew 24 gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect:

First of all we needed mass communications to be able to fulfill most of end times prophecies.

How would you SEE "satan's man" standing in the holy place from a field?

Only way I know is with a mobile device i.e. smartphone. Therefore this prophecy couldn't happen until we had mobile devices.

Jesus also said in Mathew 24

Many will be offended - and they are
Christians will be prosecuted - and they are
evil will abound - and it is
many will hate each other - and they do
Gospel will be spread to all nations and the end.

Next up AC's appearance....

(Maybe this has already been posted in this thread, and if so, I'm sorry, I didn't read the entire thread):

One prophecy in particular that needs to be fulfilled is the destruction of Damascus. This is a notable prophecy because it is a) easy to identify and b)seems to occur just before the return of Messiah as king.

Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Damascus is considered the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. So when Damascus is destroyed by a single event or a chain of significant close together events, you know Yahushua's return is near.

Yes - it has been covered in either this all prophecies thread or the first all prophecies thread listed in the OP.

Someone had posted it as being fulfilled and a poster corrected them saying it doesn't qualify yet!!

But with the action going on in the Middle East today - we may be getting close.

Keep in mind however that those are all manmade events.

There was no God involved which used his supernatural powers to destroy damascus.
Also keep in mind that there are fundamental religious sects with too much power in their hands, their leaders meeting Obama and Putin on a regular basis, like the Chabad-Lubavitch gang.

They consider themselves the hand of God and are actively pulling the strings behind the scenes to bring forth the "prophecies".

In the end, all prophecies might be fulfilled by the hand of man, not of God and you might not see any Jesus or Messiah appear on the scene at all.

Another reason I don't think the Assyrian is the antichrist is Daniel 8:

8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

This little horn is the one we saw in Daniel 7

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

To summarize - the Assyrian is laid to rest on the mountains of Israel. There is also some speculation on my part that he could be gog.

The antichrist is thrown into the lake of fire after Jesus strikes him down in the valley of megiddo.

The Assyrian is killed by God; the antichrist by Jesus.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71064429

Another character involved in the middle east in end times is gog.

Gog's grave can be found in the valley of Hamongog...

Ezekiel 39

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.

Just for pure speculation's sake - let's say the 2 Jewish boy's in this commentary are correct:

and Obama is gog.

Let's say the assyrian is also gog, and that even though the assyrian died on the mountain - he was buried in the valley - the valley of Hamongog.

Let's also say obama is leader of ISIS as proclaimed in this video created by ISIS:

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

I've postulated that ISIS are the medes of last days as referenced in Isaiah 13:

11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity...
17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them...

History tells us the assyrians were absorbed by the medes in ancient times.

From this can we conclude that Obama is the leader of the army's that come against Israel in the gog magog war; That he is gog, leader of ISIS and the Assyrian in Isaiah 10, 14. etc?

But how does Obama go from POTUS to being physically present at the war of gog magog?

Another reason I don't think the Assyrian is the antichrist is Daniel 8:

8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

----

This little horn is the one we saw in Daniel 7

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71085202

In Daniel 8 the Ram (persia-Iran) is obliterated before the little horn makes his appearance.

This hasn't happened yet.

Some may disagree. However, the angel makes it clear this vision is for end times & also in his interpretation he tells us the babylon he is talking about is in the future; Not the babylon of the present.

Dan 8:

7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

Every knee will Bow and every tongue Confess!

Endtimebibleprophecy:

It seems sort of odd that most of the world denies Christ, that they refuse to bow down and confess that He is Lord, and that one day all will bow down and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
Philippians 2:9-11

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.“

One day, all will bow down and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

To believers it just makes sense to bow down now and confess that Jesus is Lord, instead of waiting until you will do it anyway! You will have to go through so much pain and sorrow, and many into eternal destruction, yet will still bow down to God, and confess that He is God!....

Tying the chapters 7 and 8 together - we are given 2 ways the antichrist arrives on the scene.

Chapter 7 - As a little horn that rules the very last kingdom on this earth.

Chapter 8 - he only succeeds in ascending to leadership after the goat destroys a 'great' Iran and it's horn is broken into 4 separate entities.

It's clear Iran is still gaining influence in the Middle East, but hasn't achieved greatness yet.

Therefore the antichrist is most likely a little horn whose identity is still unknown...

What I think we have going on - is all end-time prophecies regarding the middle east are being fulfilled right now:

Psalm 83
Isaiah 10, 13, 14, 17
Ezekiel 38,39

I'm sure there are many others, just can't think of them at this moment....

Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Tells Israel To Prepare To Meet ISIS Troops Face To Face

"The Jews thought we forgot Palestine and that they had distracted us from it," Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi says in the recording. "Not at all, Jews. We did not forget Palestine for a moment. With the help of Allah, we will not forget it. We are getting closer every day."
