you people are so gullible, people have known about that place since the park took over.

Nothing 'discovered' about this, there is a dang parking lot near it to visit this place.

The Little River Railroad Company, that later transported the logs to the mill, was used extensively by logging operations and also brought tourists up to Elkmont where the well-to-do started to build Summer cottages.

residents, vacationers and the Wonderland Hotel owners continued to work out leases until all expired in the 1990's and all closed down.

Thank you for posting this. Watching the years go by was sorta sad. How America has changed through the years, its like a whole different mind set with people then and now. When I was small my family would take two weeks and we would drive from Ohio to Calif stopping at the National parks and sites picking out motels every afternoon starting at 4pm. Does anyone still do the family vacation?I cant imagine how much that would cost nowadays, 5 of us eating at a restaurant three times a day, lodging, gas, food, souvenirs and paying to get into the parks. I was lucky to have been born then to be able to have enjoyed good times thenhf
