lokking for book title or poem bout crisis not happen in one day but qwe lower our standards everyday

yesterday i saw a post of someone and it was a piece out of a book

It went something like; the crisis and breakdown of society will not happen in one day but it will take a long time in wich we gradually lower our standards every day and slowly slide down a path in wich everything will turn shitty

can someone please help me find this. if im not wrong the book title was something with "poem"
