I went to the local health food store a few days ago and bought $72 worth of Oils (NOW Brand), and I can make 12 oz. I'm sure I could do better on the internet. Made a 1 oz bottle. so far. Never used it myself, yet, but it is supposed to have kept the Plague from killing users. So I suppose it may work with viruses. Suggested use is diffuser or if you are out and about to put some on the bottom of your feet. |

When my 15 year old daughter was born she had colic. I tried everything and ended up at a health store and chamomile was the answer. She was so much better. I became interested in natural healing products then. My dad was a huge believer. When I had problems sleeping and was under a lot of stress, I learned about lavender. I have a chronic illness Ulcerative Colitis that is like Crohn's disease and I learned about peppermint oil. I have been reading on GLP for over a year about colloidal silver (bought the stuff to make my own) and also tea tree oil which has been great for using on my two teenage daughters' acne. Naturally in all of this reading Thieves Oil came up... but I broke my leg in April and went through surgeries and a very difficult recuperation period and didn't look into it any further. The other day I saw a reference to it on here and I started looking at it again, obviously if Ebola is a real issue it would be a good thing to have on hand, but also for other illnesses such as colds, flu etc... that will be coming now that the weather is getting colder. Whew that was a long answer :-) |

I saw studies that it had killed MRSA without antibiotics! [link to www.nydailynews.com] The apocryphal story of the slightly sinister name dates back to the Dark Ages. According to the legend, Thieves Oil was named after a band of thieves who were convicted of plundering the corpses of noblemen during the Black Plague. When the bandits were captured, the judge offered a lesser punishment if they told the court how they did not become victims of the highly contagious plague. They concocted an aromatic blend using the oils of clove, rosemary, cinnamon, lemon and eucalyptus. They rubbed this unctuous ointment into their skin and onto masks drenched in it over their mouths and noses. (snippet from article) The recipe is on that site too if you wish to make it yourself. Now put the entire mixture in a foaming pump bottle. If you don't have one go buy a bottle of hand soap from bath and beauty works, dump it into something else, leave about half an inch of the soap in there and I would buy something pumpkin or autumn scented since this oils smells that way. Add your stuff to it. It will come out as a foam. Its light enough soap that you don't really have to rinse it off. |

That is awesome to know!! MY 16 yr. old had MRSA and had to use bactrim. I started using oils a couple years ago and we have since then treated mrsa with an essential oil blend of oregano, thyme, and Rosemary rather than bactrim. Knocked it out in a couple days with no problems. I was going to post links to each oil I just named in pubmed articles. I'm noticing lately that I can't find all the studies that used to be there. But you can find a few if you google the oil name along with the word pubmed. Sometimes you have to use the actual oil name such as for oregano-origanum vulgare. |

I need to know how you use it, how often, diffusing it, everything. Any personal experiences appreciated. Quoting: Threelittlelambs I used thieves oil during the swine flu outbreak and have used it since. I have a Vicks warm mist vaporizer and I put about 10 drops in the well (the little space meant to add Vicks Vapo-rub)of the vaporizer with some water so it permeates the air. I also may rub it behind our ears but it is very strong smelling so use just a little. I have never tried to ingest it but I understand you can. I use it the second my little one gets sick from viruses she brings home from school. About 50% of the time I do not get the virus passed on to me and I have an immune issue, so that is pretty good. If you look on the website for the thieves oil, you will see they tell you all of the oils that are used in the combination. I started making my own just by guessing the amounts to use by the smell and it seems to work as well. It is a little costly to buy all those oils the first time but it's not more than the amount of one bottle of thieves and you have about 20 times more the oil at that cost. |
