EBOLA,,,WHY aren't they using Retractable Needle Syringes at Presbyterian Hospital? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 31868254 United States 10/14/2014 11:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm waiting to get my user name approved here, been lurking for a while, and my question is why aren't they using retractable needle syringes at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas? It prevents accidental needle sticks, and the head of Infectious Diseases asked for them years ago, but the buyers at the hospital didn't pay attention I guess...or maybe scared him off or bought him off??? That was many years ago, now I am wondering if Ebola will convince Dr. Goodman to buy a safety syringe that should be included in PPE for our heroic men and women serving on the front lines of this potential global catastrophe. There are 600,000 accidental needle sticks in hospitals every year in America. EVERY CEO of these hospitals know there is a syringe that can stop 100% of those accidental needle sticks. so I am thinking maybe those sticks aren't an accident, because if they KNOW they can stop it it's not an accident. We KNOW Ebola is spread through blood...why aren't our nurses being given the best PPE available? |
