(This is an Ebola Hoax preparation thread) If OP had ever worked with formaldehyde he's know ho fucking stupid his post premise is. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1310640 Ignorance reigns supreme. I've seen a classmate, during a dissection, eat frog's skin that had been soaked in formaldehyde. He didn't get sick right away but puked the next day. That was a lot of formaldehyde he ingested. I know what it smells like, and wouldn't drink water if I smelled it in there. However, isn't it possible that small amounts of formaldehyde would not be detected by smell or taste and could accumulate over time in the body to the point of making one very sick? Also, opinionated comments that don't explain why you are of certain opinions don't prove anything. They just make you look like a shill. So, explain what you mean, if you can. |

(This is an Ebola Hoax preparation thread) Formaldehyde is usually made from methyl alcohol and is usually stabilized with it and added to water to make a 37% solution. Nobody putting powder into a well is making formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is extremely reactive and denatures proteins. Being very reactive it doesnt stay in its pure form for very long |

(This is an Ebola Hoax preparation thread) I was told years ago during my factory work with formaldehyde, that if ingested to drink copious amounts of alcohol and that it binds with the formaldehyde to allow your body to pass it. Quoting: schuhman2 You're probably thinking of methanol poisoning; consuming large amounts of ethanol (liquor) after methanol poisoning can save you because your body will break down the ethanol first, giving the methanol time to escape. (Its not the methanol itself that's poisonous, its the chemicals it becomes after digestion.) Bubbler |
