Mom wants meth-toting 'Breaking Bad' doll off shelves
A Florida mom is demanding that Toys R Us stop selling "Breaking Bad" figures that come with perceived drug paraphernalia, and Walter White is not pleased.

Susan Schrivjer of Ft. Myers, Fla., posted a petition on change.org — which currently has more than 6,000 signatures — in an effort to get others to join her cause.

"Their decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children's toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values," Schrivjer says on the petition.

According to Britain's Telegraph, some of the 6-inch figures are dressed in Hazmat protective suits, with a description reading: "as [the] Breaking Bad action figure stares at you from inside his collector friendly clamshell package, he dares you to make your move."

Toys R Us is already not a kids only store. You can go there and buy M rated games right now. Grand Theft Auto has a ton of drug use and violence in it. Much like Breaking Bad.

and I have issues with someone trying to tell a store what they should or shouldn't sell

if she doesn't like it, shop elsewhere

I used to know this crazy liberal kid next door, his mom was an english teacher. She wanted to take them to court over the R in the name being backwards. She said it set a bad example for kids.

I wish I was joking.

It's funny too because his brother in law hank is literally the only person on the show that has any moral compass and is a real hero....

And he's portrayed as a dickhead stiff, racist, blowhard.

Even though his best friend on the show is a mexican....
and he has legit feelings, not completely full of shit liar like walt.

Personally hank is my favorite character.

Walt's poor me cancer routine got old after the first season, after that you could see he was nothing more than a whiner that snapped because he chose to be a doormat for 20 years.

Really? 15 or up?! Even so,they are too young... No one wants to influence a 15 y old kid to be a drug dealer... If you think that is right, your values and moral are all twisted out.

Agreed. Hank took a couple of series to work out but when it came down to it he was a real badass and like you say the only character with a real moral compass not out for his own gain. He definitely deserved some recognition.

Re: Mom wants meth-toting 'Breaking Bad' doll off shelves
this story upsets me because our county had (and still does have) a meth problem. anyway it was years ago someone decided to put bumper stickers on the school buses saying "END ICE AGE". ICE being slang for meth. so for years i just couldn't believe they would do something like this. it's blatant advertising for the damn drug. how many young kids getting on the school bus would even know the meaning of the bumper sticker.how does this help the situation. it doesn't. it's sickening and i'm not even a parent. when i bring up the subject people really don't get it.it's no big deal. advertisements for drugs on the school bus is no big deal!

That is really scary... Awareness of drugs must be taught to kids.Only with knowledge of what drugs does to your body and mind,is what is going to avoid teens get into drug world.
Teach that to your kids.Show them photos of what the different drugs do to people.Show them how they live. That will be enough believe me. After that,it's up to anyone's consciousness, because you can't be 24/7 every minute controling your kids.No way...
