good question, this event is REALLY lacking in info..waiting for more. I live in Kelowna and am very curious as to the details.

yup, my house is about 20 kilometers from the Kelowna airport. I hear the planes fly right over my house all day long!

Passengers from the WestJet flight are now in the terminal at Kelowna International Airport after a dog checked their luggage.

Fire and ambulance personnel have left the scene.

One female passenger was taken away by ambulance."

“Someone made a phone call and there was conflicting information in the phone call, but we have to treat it as a serious situation,” Hynes says. “The phone call referred to a specific flight and that flight has landed.”

Emergency crews, including firefighters from the airport and Kelowna crews, along with B.C. Ambulance paramedics remain on standby."

Just a random aside: if memory serves, it was a Kelowna paper's website, that reported the Naval Yard shooting in 2013 the night BEFORE it allegedly occurred.

More than two hours after the flight landed safely, CBC Kelowna reporter Brady Strachan was in the airport lobby when a man was taken into custody.

"Two police officers were speaking with a man and then handcuffed that man and led him past me into a secure area behind a door," he said. "About 10 minutes later six or seven officers went into that room."

Airport passengers said they spent two hours inside the plane on the tarmac after it landed, not knowing what was going on. They told CBC News they were moved onto a bus and had to wait on the bus for another hour before being taken to the airport terminal.
