A rapid advance of Eurasian snow cover during the month of October favors that the upcoming winter will be cold across the Northern Hemisphere,” Cohen said in an interview yesterday. “This past October the signal was quite robust.” Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50331153 There are a few steps to get from the snows of Siberia to the chills in New York City. Cold air builds over the expanse of snow, strengthening the pressure system known as a Siberian high. The high weakens the winds that circle the North Pole allowing the cold air to leak into the lower latitudes. The term Polar Vortex actually refers to those winds, not the frigid weather. Link all the above with the threat of the Gulf Stream stalling and is actually now colder than it should be, which is the opposite trend to the rest of the northern hemisphere sea temperatures, we could be looking at cold temperatures humans shouldn't have to bare and probably never have before! Every year 'the best' in weatherpredicting predict that the Netherlands will have their big famous Frysk competition concerning eleven cities.. they obviously cannot get tired of their failed weatherpredictions. We will add this one to failed prediction list also. |

In fact if the winter turns bitter cold again that would be more like it was back in the 60's and 70's. Tons of snow and tons of cold. I remember 1 thanksgiving in Maine when we got 6 feet of snow, and my dad had to shovel out my grandmas driveway to bring her out for Thanksgiving dinner. However by the time he got her street and driveway shoveled out it was about 10pm. So we all had to wait until the next day to eat our dinner. |

"Climate Change" = COVER story by the New World Order to hide the signs of the endtimes that Jesus spoke about from the ignorant public. Don't be ignorant. Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. |

We could be looking at cold temperatures humans shouldn't have to bare and probably never have before! Last winter was long and cold and this winter is starting out even earlier. The weather has changed a lot in recent years. IDK maybe its just a pattern that comes around every 50 years or so.Seems to be the case if you look back through time regarding weather years. Our local weather guy is saying we have a close pattern this year to 1976 which was a very rough winter. What makes it worse for the majority is the prices of everything has increased a lot and most people have less income and some no income so staying warm becomes a bigger problem. The difference I notice is the speed of things.Seems like in the past it would take more time for drastic temp changes, etc.Lately it will be 80 on Monday and below freezing on the following Wednesday night. We dont get the time frame to prepare we use to. I also feel this winter is going to be one for the record books. No specific reason other than patterns and just a gut feeling. |

Predicting Snow And Cold In The Northern Hemisphere In The Winter Is Like Shooting Fish In A Barrel. Does Anyone Remember It Not Getting Cold In The Winter? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53097090 There is a huge difference in what people are used to and a winter that may be extreme. Most younger people have never dealt with really harsh winters like we had back in the 60s for example.Winters have been really mild in recent years for most in the US compare to years ago. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64881049 Probably will be the coldest winter in decades. But the "warmtards" will try to blame it on manmade global warming. We like to call it "climate change" now. Just in case we have a few spells. Caused by man's warming of the atmosphere. "Climate change" is New World Order code for "Jesus is coming soon", but we don't want you to know that. The evidence is everywhere we look. |

I have wool, sweaters, fleeces, ..etc and nothing beats SYNTHETIC down insulation. Brands all have different names for it. I forget what Columbia and North face call their version. Last year I would walk to work in -30 to -40 below with my REI "eco" something synthetic insulation and have on a long sleeve thin t-shirt and still be sweating. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64434130 Its coming fella's The Polar stuff in the US turns into wet in the UK... which could explain why there is frantic ditch clearing going on where I live... all across the South I've seem them clearing ditches, making drain points, dredging rivers, my rive to work has gone from an hour to over 2 hours due to the sheer scale of work going on in so many different places and I have never seen anything like this in my life... if they thought it would be cold then, well, they would be taking other precautions.. |

The 60's were bad for snow, in fact one year it snowed in Maine on the first of June, so yeah we have seen it before. It's just that most of the folks can't remember it. Luckily I now live in NC, rather then Maine, however if NC has normal Maine type weather this year I know how to live in it, as well as drive in it. Our last year in Maine was about 9 years ago we got 2 storms that winter with each one having 4 plus feet of snow and the cold was so bad that it snapped power lines. Peoples radiators froze up on their cars because even the antifreeze couldn't stop it. However we stayed put, and stayed at home, like we normally did because we had the wood stove and a gas stove to cook on. As for lights we had plenty of kerosene lamps. |
