Basic class! Equipment to stream live events into the world.?

What equipment do you need to send a stream into the NET, that is producing good video quality and can be acessed/joined by many followers all over the world?
I am not familar with this, but want to take some life to you soon. Please dont say all you need is a spy-phone (gay/AIDS-phone) aka the apple that was biten.
