Why are people such assholes?

I've come to a conclusion that - as a generalisation - there are basically 3 types of people in the world:

1. Sociopaths/psychopaths
2. Sheeple
3. Sovereigns

The Sociopaths/psychopaths with intelligence rise to positions of power and control. They do this by psychologically manipulating the sheeple.

The Sheeple are un-sovereign (directionless) meat robots, wet wear i.e. they are easily malleable into whatever the ideology-du-jour is.

The Sovereigns are capable of independent, critical thinking, beyond the limitations of ideology and perceived constraint.

The Sheeple are in the vast majority. However, because they are directionless, they rely on the Sociopaths/psychopaths as a 'Daddy' figure in their lives. Being incapable of any form of sovereignty, they find comfort and solace in the perverse protectionism the Sociopaths/psychopaths in power provide them.

In addition, the Sheeple are essentially mimics. They mimic - and propagate through the 'herd' mentality - the dictates of the Sociopaths/psychopaths. And because the Sociopaths/psychopaths pursue a relentless agenda for power and control, this reflects in the Sheeple. Hence they become the 'assholes' we all observe.

The Modus Operandi (MO) of the Sociopath is power and control. PERIOD. Nothing else matters. To achieve this in a competitive environment (created as a result of this drive) requires extreme selfishness. This reflects (absorbs) onto the sheeple as a result of their primitive desire to obtain the Sociopaths/psychopaths traits. They become incapable of any empathy - as is a prime feature of the Sociopaths/psychopaths - not from inherit callousness, but from subsistence on the ever diminishing opportunities that Sociopaths leave as crumbs in their wake.

And so what of the Sovereigns? As the minority in a physical world bound by primitive rules of survival, their voice and portent will always be a whisper in the dark. Morality and Ethics are conversational irrelevancy in a world dominated by slightly advanced human monkeys, limited by an uninvolving cerebral cortex.

Only the weight of human excess, stupidity, and arrogance - or alternative external forces - will change the status quo for the 'better' in the near term.
