When the economy crashes and when Obola becomes a pandemic and when World War 3 happens, most Americans will be living in FEMA Camps and homeless shelters anyway!! No matter what happens, the new world order want to bring about martial law and enslave and kill billions eventually!! So that they can have the planet all to themselves and enslave about a billion people as their brainless zombie beast chipped slaves; of their One World Satanic Global Government!! I am well aware of his history and he is not a candidate for a job on any regular basis. And thre are not enough jobs anyway.. there could be enough jobs in both people in a marriage plus in some cases their kids did not have to work to sustain a minimum life. I don't suppose you have a true concept of what it takes to support a roof, utilities and food, clothing for work and the like... Many homeless are broken people of the system.. Some are mentally ill and cannot function in it. In the case of the man I assist he lost his house while working.. it was repossessed and he has been homeless now for 14 years. I know people who know him.. the repossession broke him partly. he has never gotten up enough money to provide another roof et all... because you cannot work when you sleep outdoors in bitter cold without showers and enough clothing and the like... Before you trash/generalize all the homeless in such a simple statement.. put on your heart and mind and look. |

Subways, buses, commuter trains, etc. I understand in most of America these things are scarce, and people spend more time in their car/suv/truck than in a home, and must commute great distance to eork, school, food shopping, etc. |

Some sites, especially official government sites, are specifically designed to work best with only a few browsers, most common being IE. In most cases, you should still be able to access the site, some features mpay be glitchy or not work. Your problem is with the browser, change the browser. You should have a multitude of browsers at your disposable in case of situations like this. |

And it's a big transit system. Express buses cost more, and the commuter rail system, which is huge here, is based on zones (1-7), it also is an added cost. A monthly unlimited dubway and bus pass (it's a card) cost around 70 bucks. It's a real bargain, probably one of the cheapest in the country. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63767862 United States 11/18/2014 09:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | my own costs of living (I am not homeless) is averaged for the year (more heat in winter.. more water in summer) is about $760 a month for roof over head and utilities including trash service and the annual taxes. Obviously I have a cheap place to live.. because its far more for most people. I don't drive and my work is at home... so my transportation costs are minimal.... I am old enough to ride the bus at 1/2 price about 6 times a month and I use a taxi a couple times a month. That is then about a very low less than $50 a month in transportation. My food runs about $200 a month, actually a bit more because for 4 months I have spent more than that canning and freezing stuff during season and on sale. the $200 figure might represent what I spend when I am not stocking. My internet and TV which I constantly renegotiate runs about $100. My cell phone is free because of my financial condition. My entertainment costs are very low. I live cheap.... I dress from 2nd hand shops on senior discount days and get other items there too. I am not fully sure of what my other small costs are each month to sustain my self.. I don't keep a monthly running tab. Now as you can see I live cheap.. but the homeless person is going to have to spend significant money getting clothing even at discount places.... he is going to have to have a roof over his head as sleeping in parks is not a good place to remain clean and warm.... I am familiar to some degree with the homeless parks in Seattle... there are generally showers at them... the homeless where I live wash up in public restrooms and rarely have a shower. They must buy food daily because of being without refrigeration. This can add to costs and the food is often shit. Add to the fact that many homeless are of subnormal mind for various reasons.... and simply cannot hold down a 40 hour a week job and many of those mindless job will not support a person in the first place. And a part time job supplies even less. the homeless fellow I drop a $10 bill to when I run into him (figure that into my costs of living by the way)..... has applied in recent months again for work... and he is too old and too blind . He does not smell bad.. that's not the reason. He keeps clean.. amazingly so. He does some volunteer work at a church for which he gets an occasional shower and some of his food. He is world traveled by the way and a joy to talk to.. which makes it worth my $10 now and then to spend some time at the bus stop or in front of the store that will not hire him and where he would love to actually work. His housing is a shed owned by his former neighbor who still lives there after these 14 years. He gets to sleep there... His sister visited last winter and treated him to a new better quality sleeping bag and some thrift shop clothes and a new pair of shoes. Sometimes when the weather is bitter cold he commits the crime of trespassing which is always sitting at the bus stop after the bus stops running.. yep that is trespassing.. sitting at a bus stop when the buses aren't running.. and then he gets to spend a few days in jail to be warmer. Great system in this country. |

I said a good chunk. An employer is willing to work with you if you show them you're really trying. I personally have a lot of mental heath issues, but I found a job. Cleaning toilets but it pays the bills. Plus I get to be alone most of the time, which is good. I found my job at the library and had help from section 8 until I got back on my feet. I am now off all government programs. |
