They could easily afford to give EVERY EMPLOYEE $1000.00 for a Christmas bonus without even hurting their net worth.

You guys do understand that the CEO doesn't make policy, right? He executes (carries out) policy made by the Board of Directors. And the shareholders of the company vote on whom to put on the Board of Directors.

The Chief EXECUTIVE Officer merely executes policy. He/she doesn't make it.

Try having money and power for a little while, then tell me how easy it was to give some of it up and go into the "negative". Not that I agree with greed, but once you get to that level things change quite a bit as far as how you view those below you.

Because they see their workers as a expense not an asset. You have to spend money(on assets) to make money but they don't want to be spending money on (in their eyes)liabilities. Until the goverment and the private sector see their tax payers and employees as assets our way of life is going to continue to slide into the crapper and we will be taking everything down with us no matter how high or how deep their tower or bunker will be. They are saying bring it and they will get what they did not pay for!
