There is a small number of instances where the boyfriend or hubby got killed in a non gang/crime related event but the numbers just dont prove that out. We know what we are seeing. I was born with a clean slate on racial views. Through observation of behavior and conduct of the black race, I have become a racist. Their minds are different in the things they pursue and avoid...Look at the history of the world and racial capacity for intellectual achievement.

Thanks for sharing an example of compassion. People do help others like that from time to time. It just doesn't fit the "if it bleeds it leads" paradigm of the news media or the consumers of that "news".

It's hard not to be callous about it though and wonder why she was stealing. The Christian in me tells me that the cop was just being Jesus for her that day, that it doesn't matter why she stole it. We all need a little grace and mercy from time to time. An act of kindness like that at the right time for the right person can change a life. The realist in me sees that she was getting in a car and knows that nearly 50 million people are on food stamps already. Talk about your first world problems. Our poor drive themselves to the grocery store!
