Re: Calm After the Storm...
...

Been a chaotic week.

Always nice to start a Friday on an up-note.

Good to hear. Being able to see, helps define the lines more clearly.

:)

....I still need a bit of time to focus, I do think hmm

I feel.... different.
 Quoting: Vash

I can understand that.

We are different persons moving into one moment to the next.

This is what is looks like right now. Or less than 10 minutes ago...

 Quoting: Seer777

I like that picture as well.

This week has imparted on to me, some very powerful realizations.

Interesting to me as most of them are not about mannerisms to being 'loud', as I often consider. But rathermore, the value in silence. Something difficult for me to consider.

Whether I'll be able to apply what I've learned.... well I suppose I'll have to see to it.
 Quoting: Vash

I think that is exactly what time and experience impart.

The lessons are learned or they are not. Those able to learn from mistake are for more able to pursue their goals.

Like I said, there is no shame in failure, unless one learns not the misstep that found them there.

The ocean is on the other side of the Salishan Spit. This is an estuary.
[link to images.search.yahoo.com (secure)]

Where fresh water and saltwater meet.

There are seastars all over the tidepools. Orange, purple, and red.

Big ones.

Yachats is a great place to see them.
 Quoting: Seer777

Hmmm interesting indeed.... do you see many other things? Shrimp, urchins, gobies, etc.?

I've personally considered the idea of making an aquarium with temperate organisms, less colourful perhaps but still interesting creatures. Tho' as I've gotten a little older, I've come to appreciate the idea of merely going to visit and seeing everything simply interacting in nature, if perhaps less visibly, than actually putting it in a tank. Besides.... a heater for a reef tank is easily aqcuired, but a chiller is much more expensive and difficult to maintain. So I recall from mild research on the subject.
 Quoting: Vash

Not so much here, no. Lots of different kinds of birds though. Eagles, Herons, Pelicans, Ducks, sea birds.

PeekingatU

Chillers are expensive. And less available are that which require said. You would have to most likely take them from the rocks, and because so few have done it, keeping them alive would be very difficult.
 Quoting: Seer777

In school, the class on birds was the only one I could halfway pay attention to.

And indeed I still have retained some knowledge.... though the class seemed very short.

To complete the class, we'd go on 'birdwatching trips' and record what we saw. It was the last class I was able to take with my best friend at the time, before our paths diverged. The time is fairly charged with nostalgia when I look back.

I've been hoping that by the time I return to finish the degree, that I'll have improved my socializing skills somewhat. This place (GLP) helps me learn, and while I've considered that 'internet skills' do not translate over to 'real life', it seems to be the case that the close-knit ties I feel while here, seems to be the stronger enabler for me.

Woke up this morning to perfectly still waters and sky. The promised storm came and went and the Bay offered up its beauty before having to leave.

Just wanted to share. A little sunshine to chase away the blues...

Here is was 2 days ago during the storm.

This morning completely calm for the first time since Monday.

My walk with Roman a couple hours ago.

This is the old dock that was built around a hundred years ago. The logs are huge around here and destroyed it moving down stream to the ocean during storms.

You should get a tiny girl dog too. You can dress her up in sweaters and costumes...It would be like a little baby daughter...

I never took a class like that. Had I, I am sure I would have enjoyed it.

Some us us enjoy tighter ties to a smaller group than loose ones to many.

Also, it gets real cold here, and had you been following the thread, it has been stormy for days.

Taking a him out to pee and poop during a storm, was a challenge.

The internet WiFi here is horrid and 3G seems crippled in this building. I'll check it when I get home. Ends in 40 minutes, then an hour drive back.

Yes. The WiFi issue can make running credit cards an actual run to the side of the building to get closer to the router, or outside to get 3G. People are understanding though.

Today is always good. Excited to go home. Long day.

Angel with his heart cut out being stalked by the Dragon and his minions. Cherubs protecting him. Walking the line between both sides. Where is God?

A lover awaits on the right hand path. Nothing on the left.

The eagles are light and dark. His eyes are on the light. The dark weighs heavily on him as a cherub attempts to pull it's influence away from his sight.

A tragedy scene. Looking for a love with no heart/looking for his heart. Protected but not saved. Hunted and chased. Impossible will power to go on.

Could be a fallen angel fighting his dualistic nature while being simultaneously protected and abandoned by God.

That's an interesting choice of picture, I'd say the gaping wounds in the man's chest sticks out quite a bit. I seen some of the other stuff but thats the only color part and keeps drawing me into it. Kind of an extremely cruel picture at the moment imo.

Now I see the other kiss had to look back at it. That part of the picture really helps balance the rest of the piece considering the focal point.
