It is a good idea...but she is allergic to jewelry. If she wears any kind of jewelry, Gold, silver, plat, white gold...her skin has a bad reaction

It's true, all the color and patterns, not everyone goes for that.

Dooney and Bourke is quite nice.

I can get YA a good deal on those if you think she likes them lol.....

I don't care for them but my mom loves them, if that helps, lol

Something for the house maybe or something to pamper her or something different that she wouldn't expect from you, but would use.

Nice scented candles with stands or wall mounts.

Tapestry for the living room.

Two person covered swing for the back porch/deck.

Tiki torches for the back yard.

Bath and body kit for the bathroom.

Nice big crock pot or other cookware for the kitchen.

Carry purse or new holster... uhm, sorry, forgot you live in California.

The covered swing is a great idea. We actually need a new one. we used to have one but a storm ruined it last yr.

As for the knock on california.....touche Resister...touche..

Don't just think of something new, think of upgrades.

Sometimes people use things often that have had better versions out for awhile but they can't bring themselves to replace it because it "still works fine" and buying a new one seems frivolous. If you upgrade it for them they'd feel like a princess using the better and easier version, and you removed the guilt from them buying or asking for it themselves.

Things like something for their vehicle, tools for their hobby, newer phone, etc. Like, if she's into hair, then you can create a basket of high-end tools and top-of-the-line hair products by going to a high-end hair salon.

Anyway, this way you know she'll already like it because you know she already relies on/uses these things.

mine is that! got it second-hand, it has been a very practical purse. Did not even realize it was a Dooney and Bourke until later.
It has brass D-rings on the sides that I clip my key ring to. No more looking for keys in a dark purse - they are right there!

Victoria's Secret stuff usually works out very well, plus you get the benefits of that type of merchandise.

We got some hippies across the street that planted a bunch of them in their yard on earth day and watching them do it all day long was funny because it looks bad.

But for a anniversary, that sounds nice but not for Christmas.

I got both my mother and grandmother miniature orange tree for Christmas one year.

Would do well most likely in California and they do bare edible fruit.

Orange blossoms smell amazing.

They have have all sorts of miniature fruit trees.

First of all, there's two types of lingerie: sex lingerie (what men think of) and everyday lingerie (the kind a woman most appreciates).

Sex lingerie is for Valentine's, not Christmas. Luxurious lingerie can be for Christmas only if she's mentioned it before. Things like $200 bra and panties, silk camisoles, $500 nightgown like you find in boutiques (NOT Victoria Secret - too mainstream and not quality) are something I'D appreciate, but I happen to know most women aren't into them for whatever reason.

Thanks Chibbers - I am surely not a hippie - but she may have a point. Does your wife like practical, outrageous or thought-provoking gifts? Just trying to nudge you into a category of what she might like.

I am going to pay a co-worker to play guitar music for my elderly mother for Christmas.
She was at a an outdoor wedding and all she could talk about was the music, a guitar and a bass.

give her a romantic weekend alone with you....arrange a sitter, book a bed and breakfast, buy her a nightie....tell her you love her so much you want her for yourself one night alone....

she will be so happy....my hubs did that for me. when we got there he had all kinds of romantic things planned....

The thing is, she would like anything I decided to get for her. She would also not bat an eye or complain if I didn't get her anything.

I put the pressure on myself to get her something "good".

That would be a great idea, but we have a newborn, no one wants to babysit a newborn lol
