Tornado watch issued for southeast Louisiana, southern Mississippi

According to the NWS, the watch is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening. This weather system is also effecting areas of Texas, Alabama and coastal areas.

Parishes in our viewing areas include:

- Jefferson Parish

- Lafourche Parish

- Orleans Parish

- St. Bernard Parish

- St. James Parish

Pretty insignificant rotation reported by one chaser. Not even a wall cloud. :( Come on we need some huge twisters! He's got that darn tornado siren that made me jump.

Houma-Thibodaux and much of the state are under a tornado watch through 6 this evening as a cold front pushes strong storms east across Louisiana.

Hepp! The streamer moved and now shows a nice shelfclod with updrafts. Can't spot any rotation yet, but it looks much better. We may still see this baby drop sometime soon! The sirens can be heard on one livestream! Darn that hail? at least golf balls are coming down hard.

Oh, you know me. I have been tornado-starved for many years now. It shines through. Gets my adrenaline pumping just to see how they are punching the rain/hailcore!

TAE issues Tornado Warning for Lowndes [GA] till 2:30 PM EST * AT 155 PM EST...A DEVELOPING TORNADO HAS BEEN DETECTED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEAR I-75 AT EXIT 16...OR 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF VALDOSTA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

Yeah we got a potential rain-wrapped tornado on the ground and the streamer guy is driving right into it! He should really get out of there!

Update 1. Twister crossing Hwy. 51. Debris indicated on the Doppler radar! Yeah baby! It's the wonder of Nature! Feel so darn stoked! Models going for a TVS of 10! Tree fallen and other damage reports coming in!



Update. Amite city, LA got hit by a twister! Damage reports coming in. Downed trees and powerlines.

Update 2. Columbia, LA is getting hit by a confirmed tornado right now. Sure hope they seek shelter now. TDS numbers are around 9600. Reports of debris falling from the sky in Columbia! Debris signature 10 000 feet, strong and extremely dangerous tornado just reported!!!

Severe damage in Columbia, WA. EAS activated, the tornado warning area was extended threefold in length now! The chaser Brett Adair is in the middle of it.


Darn huge multivortex twister reported by chasers! Moving around 55 mph to North East. Wonderful, huge beavertail reported.

Many people trapped under mall collapses in Columbia, LA. Rescue workers trying to dig them out.


Two people confirmed dead so far :(
