Instead of the gay music throughout and clicking on about 500 million fucking things without any explanation, some voice over explaining what they fuck they are trying to show in about 90 seconds would be more effective. Totally useless and ineffective video, from a millennial I guarantee, that has no ability to interact with people. |

Wrong. He also tries to hide the true identity of the object by deliberately cropping the coordinates out of the bottom right corner of the screen, though they still briefly appear when he mouses over. He cannot defeat astrometry though. [link to nova.astrometry.net] [link to h.dropcanvas.com] The WISE sky survey which makes up the mosaic he is looking at was conducted in 2010. If you go to any astronomy program and set the date to June 2010 (which is when the images of that part of the sky were taken by WISE, coordinates listed on this page are in degrees for both RA and Dec: [link to h.dropcanvas.com] ) and plug in the coordinates of that "object" you'll quickly see that the object is in fact the planet Jupiter (WISE being in orbit around earth has pretty much the same perspective as a ground observer as far as other planets in our solar system are concerned). WISE sees it just as a super-bright star-like object with its wide field of view and long exposures. It doesn't appear in other survey images because those surveys were conducted at different dates. The dipshit who made the video lied about its location being in the south, it's right on the ecliptic and celestial equator, he also lied about knowing that it is "slowly approaching us" and he tried to hide the coordinates because a bit of research using those coordinates reveals that it's just Jupiter, not "Nibiru." |

Great explanation... Except, at 5:11 in the video he clicks on the object in question and it is identified as IC5385. Please explain why it was not identified as Jupiter. No, it's not. IC5385 is identified by a small circle just off to the side of Jupiter in the video. The coordinates are distinct from the coordinates of Jupiter in the video. If you plug in the coordinates displayed for IC5385 in the video this is the resulting spot in the astrometrically solved image: [link to h.dropcanvas.com] Microsoft WWT does not identify Jupiter because in order to do so it would have to know when the image was taken, and I'm sorry to say WWT is not that advanced. All it knows is that the user wants to see an all-sky mosaic derived from the WISE all sky survey. It does not know when that image was taken, WWT is not the primary source of the sky survey data. Identification requires actual research, and real researchers do not use WWT for the purpose of accessing sky survey data. |
