Anonymous Coward User ID: 61764878 United States 12/28/2014 08:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just a short update, didn't get much sleep tonight. I kept checking in her empty room for some reason. Grandmother is in the morgue now and I have a difficult Monday ahead of me negotiating for a burial. As well as getting all the death certificates and paperwork. Quoting: Snuffielover She was a devote Orthodox Christian and her wish was to be buried according to the custom. Our neighbor, as sad as he got when the news came seemed strong. Helped me out with calling a hearse and all. He is also going to arrange a church service. Even if the church community helps out with burial there is still a large issue that worries me. Sadly Granny's Will was really out of date and pointing to someone completely else. Very distant relatives. We never managed to get it updated and most likely I would be loosing this house as soon as they find out of her death and arrange the paperwork. Still quite a lot of darkness and uncertainty ahead of me. Heartfelt thanks for all you kind words, prayers and support though, they really do help a lot! 1. What is the entire cost of your grandma's burial? 2. What is your mailing address and/or EFT method? Monk, if this is a problem please make it accessible somewhere and tell us. Thanks. |

The burial is going to be above anything I could muster the next few days. Quoting: Snuffielover This is it! End of the line for me. Loosing my house and going homeless due to not being able to make a will in time, and / or getting drafted into the Russian army. Goodbye everyone, please forgive me for any wrongdoings I might have done. Going to make a thread as well, maybe someone could offer help? I am still in shock and can't quite process it. All offers of help would be humbly accepted. All I can offer is my love and an upgrade for you. That way, you can private message us here if you wish. My grandparents came from Russia. You and your grandmother have my heart. |

I just woke up in the middle of the night here and feel such emptiness. I had a daily routine here for over seven years and now it has all collapsed. All I can think of is what daily, simple actions I did that filled my life. Now it seems like an empty void. The more need for someone around to be with! Quoting: Snuffielover Are you in Russia? Someday I'd like to visit. Private message me your contact number/address/email here at GLP and I will visit you. I worked for the airlines, so my flights are free. |

I am 71 and have to think about a burial/cremation. I can bet his grandmother would have wanted to be buried. My parents and grandparents did. They followed the traditions of Ukraine/Russia. You laid in a funeral home for two or three days and were buried according to the Russian Orthodox or Byzantine Catholic Church. My family was Byzantine Catholic, as was I. I don't follow the religion now. I'm spiritual, not religious. Last Edited by nutmeg on 12/28/2014 09:21 PM |

Just reaching out for help, although I have no idea what help opportunities there are. It can be anything, shelter, help towards burial, warm words of advice. Anything. I am about to meet the Russian system head on with no safety gear, or training / experience. I have no idea what to do, when all of this crumbles around me. Sorry, if I offended anyone. Things don't stay bad forever even if they feel like they will at the time. All the best to you... No one is perfect. A babe before walking will first stumble and fall many times but NEVER gives up until he succeeds. Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God. If nothing else, remember this: religion = subservience, control and conformity, the same template as EVERY government "Most believers would kill truth if truth threatened their religion." L. K. Washburn "This crime called blasphemy was invented by priests for the purpose of defending doctrines not able to take care of themselves." Robert Ingersoll "If anyone wants to know how God feels, it's a warm light as if the sun is poking through dark clouds and lifting your spirits with pure joy." |

The will is old, and to distant relatives, who would be quite unkind of me living in their new property. I'm sure of it. Not had any contact with them, besides hearing that they kicked out their own father to acquire his living quarters. Sadly with this large crisis in Russia people are fighting tooth and claw for any little thing. It's quite scary to be honest. Thank you very much for those, who gave me an upgrade, and for all of your kind words and support. I am quite overwhelmed right now. Sorry if I can't get back to each and one of you personally. I will try and keep you all updated. Later this morning I will be getting the death certificate and trying to arrange the funeral. Looking into social service sponsoring, since Granny was a War Veteran. Just in case I won't e able to post more soon I'll fling my little astronomical gallery here. So at least some memory of my humble creations will keep on living.
