Try slicing half an onion and put it in steaming hot water. Place this in a metal bowl and set it by your bed. Do this j til the coughing goes down. Once you feel better take 1/2 an onion and eet it by your bed. My daughter had it last year and three days later it was gone.

Wife and I both had it back in october/november. 2 weeks of being really sick, lots of coughing, fatigue, aches, fever on and off. We both had the flu vaccine so if it was flu it wasn't covered by this year's vaccine. It was God-awful, the sickest we have been for many a year. There was just no way you could do anything while sick with this. Work... forget it. Reading or knitting - forget it, no energy to focus on anything. Truly a dreadful ailment.

Had a scratchy throat, that turned into a stuffy head, that drained and sometimes made me cough a little, nothing real bad though.

My 83 yr old mom fell deathly ill with influenza and pneumonia two Christmases ago. She did not cough that much. Then my husband who is invalid also caught both. again not much coughing. He recovered fast. mom was in ICU for nearly a month but made a miracleous comeback. It was trippy running back and forth between two rooms at the same hospital.

Perhaps because she is old and hubby pretty sedientary their lungs not in top form so not able to cough it up? Something to think about.

Yep, I have it as well. I have been in Atlanta for the last month... It came on the day before Christmas! Exhaustion the first day, Headache and then a cough with in 36hrs. I haven't had a cough in 12 years! Started coughing up some gross yellow junk out of my lungs and I was exhausted. Hydrated, Mucinex more or less for 4 days straight(which saved me), spoonful of honey every night before bed and lots of sleep. It is still hanging on but, I feel like I am on the slow mend. Now, I have a light sore throat and am still tired. Maybe it was the flu, I didn't have a fever but have read that this years flu is being seen without a fever! Bad stuff to catch!
