Never gets quite bad enough to go to the doctor for it because I know they are going to say "viral - let it run its course." But, it is getting old. Serious sinus drainage, which I know is what is causing the coughing, but it isn't a sinus infection. |

Quoting: OVRANALYZE sorry to hear. did they cough to the point they had to throw up? had that happen many times during this junk. this virus seems very vigilant. No, not quite that hard, but they had extremely sore ribs. lots of sore ribs here for sure. ive never seen it last this long. crazy It's our first year in Georgia, so some of it I chalked up to just trying to acclimate to the new environment. I'm hearing the flu is horrid here this year and I worry about that... Where did you move from? Winters in the south are very humid and it is a perfect environment for mold and mildew growth. That could be what it is for you guys. I didn't have much respiratory trouble living in AL, but it doesn't get overly cold. After moving to TN, though, cold AND damp, I've had nothing but respiratory problems and it is caused by mold and mildew. You can keep your house spotless and run a dehumidifier (although the heat itself dries the indoor air), but it is outside, so there isn't much remedy. |

And have showers (no soap - just get hair wet) and change clothes after going outside. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66549583 United States 01/06/2015 04:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Going on 2 1/2 months of a nagging cough that won't go away. Now it's down to only once or twice a day but damn. I've never had a cough last this long. It's a deep one too, I am coughing up so much mucus or lung tissue it almost makes me throw up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61258312 I TELL YOU THIS IS SPACE DUST! Helping cause it, and contributing to a lowered immune system. SEE THE RED IN THE SKY - in the EAST at sunset! Keep looking - you will see it at different times just for a few minutes. SHOWER WITH WATER ON YOUR HEAD! And change all clothes. Do this every time you go outside. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 66372848 Ireland 01/06/2015 05:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dec 13th last year, went to Orlando for a function, stayed one night. Stayed at the airport marriot there. came back home to south FL. next night i woke up about 4 am with all of my sinuses on fire, burning, swollen and a throat so sore I could hardly swallow. next day, I had a fever all day and felt like 10 pounds of shit hammered into a 2 pound box. The coughing started two days later. Horrible coughing at times I could not catch my breath and was throwing up. My ribs are sore, my head hurts and i was coughing up nasty pus looking sputnum that was red with blood in the mornings. I have blasted a fever 4 times since then.. last time being about 3 days ago. It is finally starting to let go and break.. I am not coughing nearly as much and my lungs are clearer than they have been since then. Hopefully I am on the mend. The coughing was fucking horrible, i even checked because I thought maybe I herniated myself twice.. it was that bad. Sleeping seems to be what has kicked its ass the fastest.. LOTS of sleep. hopefully it'll be gone within a day or two. whatever it is it is a virulent motherfucker.. my immune system is tier one shit.. and it ripped into me like it wasn't even there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66724601 United States 01/06/2015 05:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't have a cold or sinus but the cough is chronic. Felt like a busted a rib. Massive allergy here in Tennessee. Phlegm stuck around my trachea and sometimes my throat feels like mild asphixiation. Wheezing/whistling sounds when I breathe. I find myself belly breathing to keep from coughing. Ascorbic acid and lemon helped for a week, then didn't. In fact, it made me feel worse after a while. I think it was too much acid for my body and throat. Oh, and I tried this new Listerine spray in a tiny little green bottle from WalMarct near the checkout that has thyme, eucolyptus and it helped open my trachea for a little while. Wow. Some relief. Its really a super strong spray. I thought I should alcalyze so I mixed a teaspoon of baking soda with a teaspoon of pure maple syrup. I thought it tasted good, but I burped a lot for 5 minutes. I would suggest not taking it if you're going to lay down because you need to get the burps out first. Then I went to bed with a bottle of Knudsen tart cherry juice from Whole Foods and 1/3 of a Lortab. This was my herry hydrocodone substitute. It worked. I slept 4 hours. I don't have a humidifyer but I slept with the blankets over my head and it helped calm the cough. Then something happened. It broke loose and I coughed up a whole bunch of crap almost effortlessly that I was never able to get out with just coughing. So disgusting but I'm glad its out of me. I guess it was the combination of all those things. Hope y'all feel better tomorrow. |

Plenty of tea, brothy soup and vitamins. Eventually it went away. I didn't request antibiotics, but should have since it probably would have worked. I am a vegetarian, so I don't consume meat that contains antibiotics. My temp in the first few days was 4.3 degrees above normal as well. |

Got it on boxing day and it lasted for 10 days. Everyone seems to be coughing round here. Never had the flu shot, wont take it. Noticed I first got flu symptoms in 2002, 2008 and in 2014 - every six years weird that. I believe its mycoplasma from chemtrail spraying, you build up immunity then the virus mutates and attacks your system again. Its a strange coincidence that I have had this virus 3 times and always at xmas time. Only thing that helped was carrot, apple and ginger juice for 2 days and rest. Took pre and pro biotic cultures to repopulate the gut and intestines. Tried a zapper to knock out the virus dont think it liked 9 volts and 15hz frequency. There is a chembuster remedy from USA that treats mycoplasma from chemtrail spraying looks interesting. another day feeling like pure hell |
