Meteor over California ejects a white glowing object that travels in the opposite direction.

I’m skeptical as well and leaning toward a fake. However, if it is indeed a fake, I would have to say that the both the trail and the object ejected would have to both be digitally manipulated. The trail has an interesting globular wavelike behavior that you do not typically see in contrails and interestingly enough seems to fit with the object that is ejected.

If more videos surface of this same sighting, then I will be extremely intrigued by this.

If that was an et then obviously they would be fine to eject from that height if they can make it to another planet. Looks like your not using your brain.

Hmm... The objects looks like it is twisting as it is falling.

It appears that way, but it doesn't. The reason being is the crappy camera being used here as the brightness heightens the sensitivity of the pixels. Watch as it passes the utility pole and focus your eyes on the edges of the pole.

One would have to be there and see it first hand to say if that happened or not.

Indeed. I'm not going to pass final judgement on this one way or the other based on the evidence I've seen so far. I looked at his video frame by frame in the important sections. My thought is that if it's fake then he probably added in both the first trail and the second object in digitally. The color, softness, and overall appearance of the two are strikingly similar to each other.

Both the trail and the second object also exhibit proper motion blurring when he moves the camera. That could be done digitally, but it's a cut above the usual hoaxers I see on youtube. The way the second object turns into not only a trail but an undulating trail as he moves the camera is extremely similar to real point-like light source trailing I've seen in my own photos and videos when the camera shakes.

It's a detail that few hoaxers would know to include, so if it is a hoax he knows what he's doing and he's familiar with photography of point-like light sources in a variety of conditions. That's scary to me if true, because it's much harder to detect the signs of a hoax from someone who actually has that level of understanding and skill.

For the moment I remain skeptical based on his activity with his channel hours before uploading the video late last night, but already well after the early evening hours when this video would have been recorded (assuming it was recorded the same day). There's the fact that it looks like it's in front of the power line at times but that can be attributed to detector saturation and it seems like a careless detail to miss for a hoaxer who did a proper job trailing the second object. On the other hand, if he's that familiar with what a point-like light source should really look like when it's blurred by hand motion, he would likely also be familiar with detector saturation effects and might have included that detail deliberately.

The amount of energy (Delta-v) needed to eject a meteor fragment in the opposite direction would surely cause the entire meteor to explode. (Back of napkin calculation not withstanding)
