how do they test for infections of the Gut in stool samples?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46588461 A culture is taken. The stool is spread on to a petri dish containing special nutrients which allow or inhibit bacteria, or fungi to grow. This is then stained and examined under a microscope. Might be true. They had logs in that lab that seemed to grow overnight! I'm a Medical lab technologist and this is how it is generally done. Obviously it's a bit more technical, but essentially that is what takes place. You mean, there's actually a degree for that? They hired me on the spot!
