Re: Oil Pulling (Daily Log)
I oil pull, but not consistently. I do brush with baking soda and coconut oil daily. I no longer use toothpaste. My teeth and gums are great. My boyfriend uses it also and I have noticed his teeth brighten tremendously. He began oil pulling too so I'm couscous of his results with it.

you have nice teeth!!!

It appears you do too, if your avatar is a representation.

Thank you. I was fortunate as my teeth were sealed when I was a teenager. However, years of neglect in my twenties resulted in nine of my teeth being filled. My gums, I believe, are the bigger concern. I had a root de scaling about ten years ago. I will never do that again , four stage process, and I believe it did more damage to be honest.

thank you! I haven't ever had anything filled. I've taken very good care of them I think but also have been lucky to have good teeth!!

Nice thread!

My wife and I have been using the oil for years now for everything... We haven't tried pulling yet though.

Ladies, coconut oil makes excellent makeup remover.

We use it in cooking all the time. I even like it on toast instead of butter.

If you make homemade popcorn, you'll be amazed how much better it gets using coconut oil. It was the way good old movie theater popcorn used to be made.

So far I have used it as a moisturizer on my skin and lips. This morning I put some in my coffee and was pleasantly surprised. I have heard that it is good with popcorn I will have to try it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Day 3

Pulled for twenty minutes this morning . A lot easier to do now, on an empty stomach. Also, ingested a tablespoon before coffee. Ingested three tablespoons yesterday prior to meals.

Teeth feel very clean as well as my mouth. Has never felt this clean before, and that feeling lasted all day yesterday. Will try to get a pick of my molar today and a better one of my gums.

Re: Oil Pulling (Daily Log)
Good afternoon GLP!!!

After reading about the benefits of oil pulling I have decided to start , and log the results daily. I decided to use pure , extra virgin cocunut oil due to the numerous uses, and health benefits.

I decided on Better Body Foods Organic,Certified, Exrta Virgin Cocunut Oil. I found this at my local Walmart, very surprised, and paid $14.00 for 36 fl oz.

A link to their website for additional information , [link to www.betterbodyfoods.com] .

The oil, below 76 degrees Fahrenheit, is a solid and has the consistency of crisco.

I will provide photos once I upload them.

Stats

Age : 40
Height : 6' 1/2"
Weight: 196

Current Meds: None
Vitamins: vitamin d3 1000u a day

Activity level: moderate

Teeth: moderate condition, a few cavities that have been filled. No crowns. Gums, sensitive and receding a bit due to chewing tobacco.

Yesterday I pulled twice for ten minutes each time. The cocunut oil at first takes some time to get used to, but once it liquefies is delicious. Noticed a very sharp headache approximately seven minutes into each pulling.

Results. Mouth felt incredibly clean, gums and teeth. Wasn't particularly thrilled with the headache. Brushed with Tom's natural tooth paste after each session.

Dude I chewed for 18+ years. Grizzly Wintergreen - tin a day. I vape now. I would rather chew but I was getting sick of all the spitters and the headaches. I have been oil pulling on and off for a year now. I just started up again recently. Keep going and after a couple weeks your teeth will be 100% clean and "white". They will be cleaner than they ever have but you have to do it twice a day (i do it in the shower and while getting ready in the morning and then before bed) and you NEED to floss every night.

I was buying my oil from Vitamin Shoppe but its a rip off. I just got my first jar from the website below and it looks to be good quality. It hardened from the cold so I need to melt it down. I dont care for it as a solid. Considering buying a gallon of it. So many uses that I havent tried yet.

Thanks for the input. I do floss everyday, and consider myself to have pretty good oral hygiene. I just need to give my gums a break, and stop chewing. Slight headache today after pulling for the second time. Used the oil again as moisturizer and my skin is loving it!!!

Could oil pulling reverse receding gums?

Thanks!
 Quoting: Bleedhole

I have seen many articles that say pulling with coconut or sesame oil can reverse receding gums. My biggest concerns are my gums , and a nice cavity on one of my molars. Extraction without insurance is about 200-400 per tooth.
