Hey climber in the know! I'd sure like to hear the rumor you heard. Are you saying they implied it wasn't an electro-magnetic phenomena unique to kholat syakhl? Something just related to any kind of climbing is it?

I am big into mountaineering. For years my main climbing partner was a gentleman who grew up in Russia but is now an American citizen. He was in the mountaineering club at Moscow State University and shared with me what really happened up there. I asked him about it and he was surprised I had ever even heard of it.

No, I'm not BS'ing. Not extraterrestrial, not bigfoot, definitely a manmade thing. Radiation killed them but it wasn't what you think.

If you really want to know the truth, start climbing hardcore, get to know some folks who grew up in Russia's climbing community. It's not a secret among them.

No I'm saying it was radiation from a man made object. Whether it was an accident or a test, I've heard different opinions from those within the circle. Nothing to do with climbing. More like in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Are you subscribing to a natural meteorite/comet situation or weapons testing?

If a weapon, what kind of classification?

Either way, I think the whole thing stinks of government cover up - after the fact at the very least.

I've pointed you in the right direction. My friend passed a couple years ago and I don't want to violate the spirit of our relationship. It took me a long time to be accepted by the Russian crowd, and things were said with the unspoken understanding that it was privileged info.

There's a documentary out there somewhere that comes close to the truth. It's been years since I've seen it but I'm sure it's still around.

Really cool article!

It reminds me a lot of the out of place artifacts research done by Michael Cremo. While I find it very interesting, how do you come to the conclusion the structures were designed to prevent asteriods/comets/meteorites?

Dyatlov – Timeline of Deaths

February 1 (Sunday), 1959
(Buddy Holley dies in Iowa cornfield)

1. Group makes camp at 5:00 PM
2. Tent is ready by 7:00 PM
3. A light meal and snacks are enjoyed
4. The Otorten News in drafted, edited and pinned to tent wall
5. All asleep by 10:30 PM

February 2, (Monday), 1959

7:44 AM – Nicki awakes, dresses and crawls thru tent exit to empty bladder

7:46 AM A moon-like light is so bright from the SW that he sets his flashlight atop the tent and calls inside for a camera

7:47 AM Suddenly he realizes the light is coming directly toward him and getting very large and bright

Almost immediately a thermal wave precedes the light, turning the tent into a sauna-like environment, 175+ degrees, and the air inside the tent is very hard to breathe.
Instant tent evacuation is needed (crawling 1 x 1 thru tent door is too slow).

The remaining 8 tent dwellers wildly and crudely slash the NE side of the tent (away from the lights in the sky) and jump thru the side.

7:49 AM All 9 tourists assemble 40’ north of tent

Feeling the high mountain slope is acting like a lightening rod to the bright globe light, and shooting electric streams, they decide to go to a low point, NE down the mountainside to the riverside.

The 9 tourists head quickly in single file, with back-leaning, choppy, quick, high steps.

7:59 AM All arrive at a flat shelf area, just short of the Cedar tree

8:00 AM All help to build a fire on the back side of the Cedar tree, away from the wind

8:05 AM Dyatlov and Zolotarev realize the need for a wind shelter

8:08 AM Zolotarev finds a den site 60 yards away, beneath the high cut-bank of a creek. No digging is required, just a smoothing of the flat base area. Pine boughs will be needed for flooring

8:13 AM Meanwhile, back at the Cedar tree the fire is burning well

Suddenly, a major electric explosion from comet fragments (the Nevsky/Budarin theory) hits the Cedar tree area.

The two Yuri’s are slammed to the ground (already dead when they hit). Slobodin is also knocked to the ground by a blow to the side of the head, but he quickly rises to his feet.

The explosive wave singes the top of some of the trees, and weakens and snaps many of the lower and large cedar tree limbs. Uniquely, all these limbs are only ones that face the explosion itself.

Electric explosions emitted from the comet fragments send neutron radiation as beta dust upon the tourists.

Comet light, heat and explosions radiate the exposed skin of the group.

8:18 AM The 2 Yuri bodies are respectfully laid under the tree; some of their clothes are cut off to benefit the others.

8:20 AM The future 4 den dwellers warm by the fire, then grab pine boughs and cloth coverings and return toward the den floor

8:30 AM Warming by the fire are soon-to-be-returnees, Zina, Igor and Sloboda

8:33 AM Zina departs fire for the tent

8:34 AM Sloboda departs for the tent

8:35 AM Igor Dyatlov departs for the tent

8:41 AM The den team 4 returns to high ground above the den

A second, major comet-fragment-caused electrical shock wave hits the den area at 8:41 AM. Zolotarev and Nicki are instantly crushed and thrown forward to the front of the den floor area. Luda is also hit and thrown further forward to creek falls area itself. Alexander tries to help but he too is helpless, and covered by snow cascading above the den and covering everyone. All 4 are dead. This explains why the fire, though only sixty yards away, was not re-stoked, leaving unused firewood adjacent to the fire.

Luda and Zolotarev’s eyes have been blasted forward out of their sockets. Luda’s tongue loss (and possibly Zolatarev's tongue as well) – still unexplained. Multiple fractures of Luda's Hyoid bone from the air blast is the likely cause of her loosened tongue. Critters consume the eyes and tongue(s) in the 3 months before the bodies are discovered.

Zina and Slobodin may already be dead from hypothermia as well as secondary effects of the 8:41 AM seismic explosion. Igor Dyatlov, trailing the others, may have heard the blast, explaining why he had turned around to face it as he fell dead, clutching a branch

57 Total Minutes ----------- all could be dead.

Re: excited to share info re: dyatlov pass incident
How would the reports of the 7:55 am bright light reported by locals work in to this?

Are you thinking someone reported it off by an hour?

Witness sightings depend on when a witness is in a position to see something. The 7:55 observation could well be accurate. The tourists were slightly below the east side of a mountaintop, in a tent and sleeping. Nicki's first chance to see the "fireball" was 8:46 AM when he left the tent.

We know that "fireball" sightings occurred for more than 3 months in this area of the northern Urals. If, as I am thinking, these fireballs are the fragments of a comet breakup caught up in earth rotation, then they could appear from time to time over the months.

Note that the bright lights, followed by a thermal wave, and then electric explosions all hit the tourists at the same angle, as if guided (by the earth). What surprised Nicki was the angle of the fireball, approaching from SW to NE, right on the pointed position of the tent. At first he could not judge movement because the light was coming directly at him. This same illusion can be observed watching planes land or takeoff from an airport. But soon he saw the "pearl string tail" and felt the heat.

Timing is also an issue with our tourist watches. Great effort has been made by others on this site to demonstrate how long a watch could survive its wearer's death in sub freezing cold. But electric explosions could have also affected the watches. Recall that one watch shows 5:30, while others show 8:30. A breakthrough that ties the electric explosions (seismic data) to the deaths is the discovery that one of their "8:30 watches" revealed "AM."

Suddenly, a major electric explosion from comet fragments(the Nevsky/Dudarin theory)hits the Cedar tree area.

A second, major electrical shock wave hits the den area.

Luda and Zolotarev’s eyes have been blasted forward out of their sockets. Luda’s tongue loss – still unexplained (multiple fractures of the Hyoid bone from the air blast is the likely cause).

Zina and Slobodin may already be dead. Igor Dyatlov may have heard the blast, explaining why he had turned around to face it as he fell dead, clutching a branch

Re: excited to share info re: dyatlov pass incident
So we're thinking 7:55 was the first of multiples that morning. Interesting.

After reading a few of the OPs original posts...I can't help but think this sounds eerily similar to the foo fighter phenomenon pilots experienced in WW2. Balls of light, static discharge, heat disbursement, etc.

Re: excited to share info re: dyatlov pass incident
So we're thinking 7:55 was the first of multiples that morning. Interesting.

By "multiples" I would mean "possible sightings" by people (villagers, hunters etc.) miles apart over at least a 2 1/2 hour time frame. The "fireball" light seems to be a constant in all reported sightings, as well as ultimate movement of the light. My theory has already allowed for sightings by the tourists over a 57 minute period (that only begins when they awaken) as the celestial forces arrive. Remember, I believe these celestial forces are fragmented from each other, largely sustained in direction by earth rotation. The difference from other reported sightings is the apparent electric offshoot explosions (Nevsky) that does the direct killing of 5 tourists, provides the beta radiation, and affects exposed skin appearance. Seismic data records two such explosions at 8:16 AM and 8:41 AM.

How would the reports of the 7:55 am bright light reported by locals work in to this?

Kholat: that's interesting about the skin color. I think we should see if we can find more details regarding that in the autopsies. I.e., was it exposed skin only? Also, it would be helpful to know which specific kids had the dark skin discoloration. I know Igor had it for certain.

These are the remains of the fire under the cedar tree. It was estimated to burn less than two hours at most. There was no one to add more fuel within that amount of time.

Re: excited to share info re: dyatlov pass incident
I realize my timeline analysis is a bit intimidating at first look. Frankly, I would be more comfortable if the total timeline was an hour and forty minutes and not 57 minutes. I wish Nicki would have exited the tent 20 minutes earlier, but have no evidence to support it.

I am also uncomfortable with only 25 minutes separating the two electric discharge attacks -- 8:16 AM and 8:41 AM. It is difficult to believe freezing people behave so efficiently during those 25 minutes.

Still, I have found no better theory that incorporates all the available data.

A new path to look in to: I recall reading once that lightening strikes can make tongues and eyes completely dissolve out of bodies. I'm currently trying to find some kind of evidence this can happen. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
