Thx for the bumps Paradox.

This seams to be an issue lost among society. More than half the graduating students (high school/college) have mostly no idea who even signed the damn thing.

Sure, but you have to remember that "long train of abuses" included the king dissolving duly elected state and town legislators, British military razing sea ports with cannon fire from ships, burning a merchant town to the ground and actually killing people there. It included British soldiers looting food and powder stores of the local citizens and raping their women.

Things are getting pretty bad and Washington DC is as lawless as other tyrannical nations we have opposed in the past, but as yet they have not done what the King of England and his military did.

Yes I remember Ruby Ridge and Wako. I do think 911 was at the very least allowed to happen by people in very high places who knew it was coming. That said, we still have the ability to change congress at the ballot box which is something the American colonists were denied the ability to do.

lastly, remember that the founding fathers only declared their independence after they exhausted all possible avenues for remedy and they never went on the attack. That is what made there's a righteous cause. They were and I am willing to defend my freedom with my life if need be, but that time has not yet come and the key word when it might be required is "defend".

I don't know about exhausting all possibilities... They could of just paid their taxes.
That's was the main driving point.. Besides the whole hey Jefferson, I'm taking your house part. (he funded a lot of the uprise in the beginning). I know it want just him, but it started here in Boston.
Most of the colonies were afraid, besides maybe Virginia.
We are being taxed into oblivion! We are being forced to purchase things even if we don't want them.
They are breaking the backs of the common man so we eventually end up falling in line with the rest with their hands out.
Sounds like the time has come if you ask me...

Potus is one man. Yes a president can make things really suck for a little while, but remember how our constitution structured government to give us the advantage in the long run. There will always be crooked over reaching lawless politicians but the pendulum has swung back and forth quite a bit already because we can and do change our government regularly and there are many levels to it.

Look at Obama and then look at the majority of governors and tell me the American people aren't reacting to stop him. Look at the state legislators. The states are fighting back and winning. Even congress has seen an historic shift in power in the last few years. Since Obama has been in office the backlash against his policies has spawned waves of replacements at all levels of government local, state, and federal.

We must keep pressing this way and not give them a reason to create another Ruby Ridge or Wako.

2016? LOL! We have to get there first. Way to much flying crap getting dangerously close to lots of fans for me to put my sights on the 2016 election yet. Economic doom, natural disaster doom, jihad doom, war doom. We could be neck deep in a lot of ugly brown stuff before then.

Stop putting so much weight on presidential elections. Can't you see that is how tyrants get their power? The answer isn't in electing the next president. The president is important and powerful, but he is one man. We have to return to government running from the states and three co-equal branches on the federal level.

Did I read that you are in Massachusetts? If so, I can understand why you see things the way you do. It's not a free state. I'd be so pissed my eyeballs would be yellow if I lived in a place like that. Much of the rest of the country is still free.

In 2010 I was out holding my signs and making noise with all my neighbors in protest after protest here in Tennessee. Nationally enough people were doing the same thing that 70 seats changed in congress that November. That was the single biggest change in congress in a generation. Seriously, the last time that happened FDR was president. It stopped Obama in his tracks. The damage was already done, but at least the brakes were applied. Now, just the letter "R" after a candidate's name isn't enough, but it's a damn sight better than what it was.

I've got to leave work to go pick up my son at archery practice so I'll have to continue this in a couple hours.

I have to go to parent teacher conference for my kid, lol.

It doesn't matter who gets elected. They talk a big game of sticking up for the ppl, but when they get there it always changes.

They get comfy and they want to get on special committees and such... So they vote a certain way,

They ALL suck ass.

Take Scott Brown for example. After Kennedy, we had that special election.
We were so excited to vote. He won! It was amazing. Turned out that he wasn't as conservative as we thought.

Re: A lot of us may have forgotten these words.

I live in MA
 Quoting: Mr. NorM

No offence intended, but this explains why you think it's all over but the revolutionary war. MA, NY, CT, NJ and the like are not free states anymore. Scott Brown may have looked "conservative" by MA standards, but trust me, the rest of us here in flyover country were never fooled.

I agree that you can't trust people to remain constitutionally conscious for very long after they make it to Washington DC no matter where they come from. That said, there are some relative newcomers that are making a difference for now and are giving the establishment absolute fits because of it. Think people like Lee, Cruz, Paul, Gohmert, and Gowdy just to name a few. There are more. My rep was one of the few who voted against Boehner for Speaker a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more proud of him and our district for it.

Things look bleak for freedom where you are. I get that. Keep fighting where you are and we will back you up when we can. If the worst happens, well, a strategic retreat from behind enemy lines will be bring no shame but will help you live to fight another day. We'll leave the light on for you. Hope you like sweet tea. chuckle
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787
